  1. Welcome to the forum. Do you have air con with climate control or a manual system ? Whichever it is, the control to move the warm air flap from the cold to hot position is not working. If climate control, usually a motor is used and these can fail (a new one for a C5 was about £60 a couple of years ago). If a manual system, it is likely the flap is moved by cables so it may have come unclipped at one end. Pity it has just happened now the cold weather has arrived.
  2. Clutch bearing noises can last years so depending on how bad it is you may be able to live with it - see what other members think. Or maybe just the bearing needs replacing - however, the amount of work/labour cost is probably the same as for a clutch replacement. With the clutch out the dmf should be checked to see if it needs replacing and you could always have a solid flywheel/clutch kit fitted which may be cheaper depending where you get it but is about £420 on eurocarparts vs £430 for a clutch and dmf vs £170 for just the clutch (dmf £264) but no price for just the bearing. So looks as if there is about £250 labour cost.
  3. Welcome to the forum. I suspect you do not have a problem since the lights go out but once the engine is running if they come back on then there may be something. It may be worth checking your battery voltage in case it is a bit down, should be about 12.5 to 12.7 volts before starting the engine, then about 14.4 volts. Where is the red temp light ? The pictures I have of the dash show there is a low fuel level one at the left of the fuel gauge and at the bottom of the temperature gauge is a thermometer symbol which (according to the RTA French manual for the mark 1 C5 but not in the one for the mark 2 C5) lights up with the ignition in the M position and alarms if the coolant level is low or the coolant temperature is high - however, none of this is noted in my C5 handbook so maybe there has been a change from the mark 1 to mark 2 C5. My C5 handbook is for a 2007 model and on the section on starting with the key in the M ignition position it says the following warning lamps should light up for a short time - handbrake, engine diagnosis, ABS, ESP/ASR, passenger's airbag deactivation, low fuel level, Stop, SERVICE.
  4. Welcome to the forum, no problem in copying or rewriting/editing the solution elsewhere. This forum is particularly good for the C5, many members have them and there are some experts on here looking after them.
  5. Welcome to the forum. If your existing key still works but it is just the case that needs replacing, these can be bought on ebay and you put the inside bits from your existing key into the new one including the blade. Should not be much more than about £5 and since your existing bits are used it does not need to be programmed. If the battery is removed whilst doing this there will be a procedure to follow in your handbook. For a complete new one £220 seems about £100 too much - so if you need to go this route shop around and try via the internet but it will need to be programmed.
  6. An extra thought, try plugging in the connector to the old one before swapping them back and see if that works. Many people blank off egr valves, so as long as the replacement one is not leaking, then it would probably have the same effect. I would save a bsi reset until later but there is a procedure for disconnecting/reconnecting the battery on the C5 Technical subforum Common Problems post that has not given me any odd electrical problems.
  7. Ignore disconnecting the pipe, I thought it may have had a vacuum pipe but one is not mentioned in the Haynes manual on the 1.6 hdi.
  8. This is only a guess and maybe the replacement egr valve has a problem such as it is not closed. You could try the old one again or disconnect the pipe to it and plug the end of the pipe which should stop the valve opening. The fuel filter may need priming again.
  9. I have slightly altered the initial post so that members requesting help/offerring it should contact each other via private messages. To date the number of people with diagnostic equipment able to help each other is not sufficient to require a contact list/system to be created. However, the offers of help so far are appreciated.
  10. You should get the remainder of the 3 year warranty if the conditions of it were met. Once 3 years old though, if from a Citroen dealer (and not a large Citroen national dealership which seem to be different) you should get the approved used 1 year warranty - elsewhere may be a few months. But once out of warranty would the average motorist want a hybrid - hence my thoughts on resale.
  11. Welcome to the forum. What engine is it and do you have the fault code that you cleared ? Did the engine run after changing the egr valve and was the valve new and were all the connections and pipes to it in good condition - presumably it ran ok before you changed it.
  12. Just tried your user name in eurocarparts as a car reg and it comes back as a 1.6 hdi 2008 C5, so now understand your first line. How many miles has it done, just thinking about the dpf ? On the occassional cough I have sometimes thought about the fuel filter or water in it.
  13. This is something in the latest Car Mechanics magazine. On a 2011 Berlingo the hydraulic pipe had come out of its supporting clip near the gearbox, rubbed against the gearbox and worn through giving a leak of brake fluid down the gearbox and onto the undertray. To see it the battery had to be removed. The pipe needed replacing. The driving symptoms were the clutch did not work properly.
  14. The auto lights feature can be turned off, it will tell you in the handbook. It is something like have the ignition on (not sure if the engine needs to run) and then hold down the button on the end of the lighting stalk.
  15. A bit more info needed on your symptoms that make you think there is a problem.
  16. Have you tried using the spare remote ? It may be you need to buy a new one. A look on ebay only shows used ones which may be no better than the one you already have so a dealer may be your only option.
  17. Welcome to the forum.
  18. Welcome to the forum.
  19. Just a thought, who would want to buy a used hybrid, particularly if the batteries needed replacing ? Could you end up with a car that nobody would want once you wished to change it for something different ? Any potential fuel economy savings could be minimal compared to ownership costs including buying/selling.
  20. Welcome to the forum. It might just be a loose needle. There is a pinned post on the C5 subforums on speedometer repairs which may help.
  21. This does not answer your question, but one of our neigbours is a rep and had a company car Honda hybrid with electric and petrol motors which saved a lot in tax. From memory the petrol was about 1.4 litres and only helped at higher speeds, so when the car came along the street on the electric motor it could not be heard. I am not sure about the batteries but they may have been on a lease arrangement which may complicate things. The petrol also charged the batteries. Oddly, it did not give as many mpg as our C4 diesel so its main money saving would be the taxable benefit. The boot was not that big since it was full of batteries. He has since replaced it with a BMW.
  22. If you have ESP there will be a button on the dash somewhere that lets you turn it off. Look in your handbook for the details.
  23. Welcome to the forum. I can not help but hopefully somebody will be along who can.
  24. There seems to be a difference in the parts from car RPO 09492 and the notes I gave in your other post appear to apply to the earlier parts. You only need a Lexia diagnostic to be done if your car has ESP to align the steering wheel sensor. The following is from the Citroen procedures for the cars from RPO 09492 but without the diagrams since these will not copy - 1. RemovingESSENTIAL : Put the wheels in the straight ahead position.Disconnect the battery.Remove :The steering column cowlingThe steering wheel (see the relevant operation) (earlier models to RPO 09491, 33 Nm, later models 20 Nm. later models do not turn rotary switch)The driver’s air bag (see the relevant operation) - held by 2 torx bolts no. 30.CAUTION : Do not exert any force on the connectors of the driver’s airbag and the horn, when passing them through the steering wheel port.Prevent the rotary connector from rotating, using an elastic band (supplier "DAV ; SYLEA ; VALEO"). Release the harnesses relating to the switching module under the steering wheel.Unscrew the screw (1) several turns. (this looks as if it is a clamp around the column)Unclip the switching module under the steering wheel from the steering column at " a"By means of a screwdriver(on each side).Disengage the switching module under the steering wheel from the steering column.CAUTION : Do not exert any pulling force on the harnesses relating to the switching module under the steering wheel.Disconnect the connectors at " b".N.B. : Each connector is marked with a colour. 2. Adjustments A : make DAV ; SYLEA ; VALEO.B : make EATON ; DELPHI.ESSENTIAL : After adjusting, do not turn the rotary switch.Turn the rotary switch ( 2) as far as possible clockwise.Never exert force on the rotary switch.Turn the rotary switch 2,5 turns anti-clockwise.CAUTION : Orient the driver’s airbag and horn harnesses ( 3) upwards. The point of the triangle " c" should be positioned opposite the linkage "d"(supplier "EATON ; DELPHI").3. RefittingESSENTIAL : Replace any faulty parts.Check that the road wheels are aligned straight ahead.Check the condition of the 2 clips for locking the switching module under the steering wheel.Connect the connectors on the switching module under the steering wheel.Check the locking of the connectors of the switching module under the steering wheel.Engage the switching module under the steering wheel on the steering column.Check the locking of the switching module under the steering wheel.Tighten the bolt (1) to 2 ± 0,5 daN.m.Remove the guarantee label that is affixed to the rotary switch (supplier "DAV ; SYLEA ; VALEO").Refit :The steering wheel (see the relevant operation)The driver’s air bag (see the relevant operation)The steering column cowlingReconnect the battery.Check the functioning of the switching module under the steering wheel. 4. Vehicles equipped with ESP (Electronic Stability Programme)Calibrate the steering wheel angle sensor (LEXIA or PROXIA).To perform this operation, select the menu "ABS (ABS/ESP)". 5.
