  1. dont get disheartend yet. after standing for so long the ride hieght afjusters are probally stuck. jack the car up one end at a time. YOU MUST PUT THE CAR ON AXLE STANDS. if you no what anti roll bars are youl see a little link rod from the anti roll bar to a round black hieght adjuster pop one off the links off and see if the link rod moves freely. if not take it ioo and clean and grease till id does move . also have you checked the maxi fuses for the pump if not get back to us and il post a pic were they are. finaly if it is the pump ive got loads of them u can either collect free (newcastle area) or have one for the price of the postage
  2. All electric mike. and affected by economy mode m8
  3. the 16 valve has 2 camshaft,s 1 for exhaust and 1 for inlet . the timming belt turns only one of these shafts. there is a small chain that connect the 2 cams so i would imagine it,s the chain thats slipped.your easiest and cheapest way forward now is another engine and just drop it straight in or sell the car as spares or repairs
  4. Is it a 8 or 16 valve engine
  5. hi. the car is definatley worth doing up . after having stood for so long theres certain steps you need to take 1st. 1 dont muck about get a new battery for it. its a 2.2 so a 2.litre battery wont have the cranking amps. 2 replace battery in keyfob 3 with the new battery fitted go to the fusebox in the glove compartment theres a fuse market S H pull the fuse out and go for a cup of tea. 4 replace the shunt fuse and you have just reset all the ecu,s on the car 5 now do a bsi reset its pinned at the top of the forum now try and start it and remember that the car will be in economy mode till the engine fires up. so half the problems will go once its running then get back to us
  6. just for your info yours is a 90 amp alternator
  7. just put it on it wil charge as you havent got electric seats or aircon or any heavy power drain to worry about. yours is just a bog standard van.
  8. easy enough to change and just a bog standard orange indicator bulb
  9. hello and welcome to the forum. if you got a c5 it will be good to hear how they perform in constant hot weather
  10. no need for a 2nd ecu. when you remap yours just make a copy of your ecu as it is now and either store it on your pc or burn it to disc. then if anything goes wrong you just copy and past your original copy back into the ecu
  11. dont think there is any for a mk1 unless you add them yourself with aftermarket stuff. its down to the can bus system
  12. use the reverse light switch to fill in. what type of box is it
  13. take the alloys off. steel wheels will flex and give with the road conditions alloys wont
  14. press the ride hieght button up and down and see what the suspension does. its probally due a lds fluid change if it isnt as responsive as it used to be
  15. Excellent and thank you for posting this
  16. youl be chasing your tale forever by trying to gues the fault. you need to have it plugged in and go to live data. thats the only way you can see why its not starting
  17. Pul the stereo out and there may ne a input socket on the back
  18. very common fault. you need a new lock mechanism
  19. If its a 2 litre hdi sit in the van and put the ignition on and wait 10 seconds then switch ignition off. do this 4 or 5 times and you should hear a gurgling sound. then try and start it. If its a different size engine let us know
  20. You need to do what random bloke suggest and clear the code and see what comes back. if they come back then id be going into live data and check what the egr valve and dpf are doing incase its had a botched attempt at defapping and egr blanked. If all fine then get back to us
  21. That scanner wont work on your citroen. Are you sure its the engine management lite thats coming on. It could be the car regenerating the dpf and the light comes on to tell you
  22. check the earth lead from the battery to the gearbox if all ok then get starter motor checked. but id put money on the earth fault or loose wire
  23. Probally be safer, cheaper and easier to just get a set of steel wheels and wheel trims
  24. its a seimens vdo unit. theyve been in the citroen range for a while now. make sure you get the bluetooth model.
