  1. Done loads no diagnostics needed just plug in and use. And youl get everything working as its already there in your ecu software
  2. well that type in the foto are normaly ok. change of plan now before buying filter housing take the conectors of one at a time and check the seals inside of them also do you no how to check the spill return pipes on the injectors
  3. Think youl need the multi line display as it sounds like yours is a single line. The display your on about comes in 2 sizes single and multi, There easy enough to upgrade
  4. |Top of the headlight there 2 white plastic resess put a alan key in them. one moves it left to right and tghe other is for up and down
  5. Ok im asuming that youl have the bosch type of fuel filter housing. These are prone to causing problems with the fuel delivery. So changing the the housing is a very posotive step towards fixing this fault and probally the first step i would take if it was my car. If you get it from the dealers it will come with the filter in and make it a bit easier for you to swap over. When you remove the pipes to the filter housing have a look inside them to make sure the seals are present and sitting correctly then just push them onto the new housing till you feel them click and lock into place. to remove them look at the fuel pipes and youl see diferent coulor(green and white) oblong pieses of plastic at the end of the pipes push these in and pull the pipe off . No point in looking for a hand primer as yours dosnt have one
  6. It was a 30amp in the engine bay fuse box cant remember the f number. things id be checking would be wiring not just for breaks but continuity and resistence. ignition barrel. And a daft one would be the imobiliser as when it kicks in youl get every sympton that you describe and your having trouble with door locks wich is linked to the imobiliser. Having said that ive not had much to do with automatics so dont no if the imobiliser would disable the shift lock or not. Have you got acsess to diagnostic equipment
  7. Take it back to the garage and ask them to double check what theyve done. Im most definatley not saying that there work wasnt up to scratch/ What im saying is that you might have a fault on your fuel filter that is recuring and might require a new fuel filter housing
  8. The dashboard if you look at the bottom of the dash youl see 2 small holes if you use 2 credit cards or similar and push them into the seam where the dash cluster meets the dashboard and youl feel them click the dash will then just pull out from the bottom upover. manouvre the dash out and youl see a multiplug connection push the top down and slide the black plastic bar back and the conection will come away. Next jockey the dashboad out past the steering wheel you can help it along by lowering and pulling the steering wheel towards you. With the dash out youl see a black cover on the back with white clips around the outside you just push these in and pull the black part away youl see how easy it is once youve got the dash out. Next turn the dash over and do the same with the clear front part of the dash. once youve done that pull both the rev and spedo pointers off. on the back of the dash youl see 2 white/clear motors Held in with 2 white plastic prongs ********** DO NOT*********** bend these they snap look closley where rhe motor meets the prongs and gently prise them outover while pulling the motor upover, Swap them round with each other or replace the broken one. Puting it back together Just push everything together and it will just clip together but before you do you need to set the pointers up corectly to do this put the multiplug back into the dashboard and switch the ignition on then push the pointers on. Take dash back out and reasemble and put back in the whole job sounds a lot but only takes about 15 mins to do. Center display This just pulls out but its a little pig to pull out. We use 2 right angled picks any way whatever you decide to use do the following where the display meets the ovalish plastic display put whatever your using into the seem of where they meet and just pull out over and it will just come away. Youl see 2 torx screws either side of the display remove these and the display just come away. Again remove the multi plug and turn the display over and youl see three twist in bulb holder remove these with pointy nose pliers and replase the bulbs and reasemble. When your puting the plastic surround back into place make sure that the bulb on the right hand side (for the trafic master) is in place as it some times falls out. Again sounds hard but isnt 10 15 mins tops
  9. Try going through the heater settings as there really the only thing that has plastic bits that move
  10. the problems you have listed are nothing at all and can be fixed by yourself for under a hundred quid, Only thing that confuses me is the cold wiring that the auto lecy has done what does he mean by cold wiring you just need 2 swap the 2 motors on the back round and there just push fits
  11. Proper taxi driver you tight as owt ha ha just buy the bit its only 20 quid
  12. Im glad you no why fuses blow. Had you said in your original posting that youd checked your wiring then it wouldnt of been mentioned. Anyway had something very similar on a 55 plate c5 kept blowing the fuse and leaving the starter dead. It turned out to be the solenoid on the starter shorting out and poping the fuse
  13. Sit in the car with every thing switched of after lifting up the drivers side rear seat. Now switch on your ignition and listen for a gurgling sound coming from the tank pump (under the seat youve just lifted up). If you hear the gurgling then do this 5 or 6 times to prime the fuel system. keep the ignition on each prime till the gurgling stops. Then see if the car will start. And just forget about your heater plugs there the least of your problems whoever told you is a bit out of touch with hdi engines as they very rarley use them
  14. eeee thats a terible slur on my good characater as a driver mr herns ha ha. I never ever ever speed through france but yes i was doing mostly a hundred across belgium and holland. They dont mind you speeding in these countrys i know this for a fact as when i got caught last year the police kept saying speeding fine speeding fine ha ha
  15. The light coming on and going straight off is perfectley normal as the c5 dosnt use its heater plugs till it gets below -5 so forget about that being your problem. When you say it dosnt start but will if you bump start it. Do you mean it wont turn over or does it turn over very slow or just turns over and over
  16. Now you come to mention it i havnet a clue how much a c5 tank holds. For some reason i thought they were like a 406 and have 2 tank sizes. Going to get the receipts out, Just checked the milage display and its saying 35 to the gallon which isnt that good as there were only 2 of us and 4 bags in the car average speed was 80ish.
  17. A quick guess by reading your post would be to check for a short or faulty component or even water causing a short
  18. ha ha left shields with a full tank then filled up outside of dover and the misses paid. just getting the reciept of her and take a tenner fo for tabs and pop (going to keep a closer eye on her), Next fill was in spijkinesse just past rotterdam and was 115 litres at 130 a litre, so i arived with a full tank. Coming back was a fill up at ferry terminal at france 120 euros and a fill up at white mare pool £91 . I just really really cant work it out
  19. The rod to your swirl pot isnt that expensive from the dealer and will increase your mileage and performance when replaced. also the vacum pipe being split would not of helped anything and as it goes onto your egr valve that could be the cause of the egr fault
  20. Ha ha ha all the best to you. Was hoping that someone would say ok your getting 40 to the gallon etc etc.Going to show me ignorance but im really confused trying to work it out Just dont get how to do it ha ha
  21. Drove from south shields(newcastle) to spijkinesse (holland)last monday a distance of roughly 900 miles and used 95 in english money and 110 in euros now about to set back of home im trying to work the mileage out. anybody help as maths isnt me strong point and try to work eyros into pounds into mpg is like the krypton factor to me. Done it in one of our c5s with 210k on the clock and it never missed a beat best regards steve
  22. Do a search on speedo. And swap the rev stepper motor with the speedo motor and see if that cures it, If it does then get back in touch with the company
  23. If you look up limp mode in the search bar theres a discusion telling you wich wire to cut to permentley disable the limp mode. (whilst not recomended because if you get a serious fault it could cost you a engine) its there for you to read and make your oen choice
  24. You dont need to get the ecu reprogramed you just need to go in and disable the dpf side, a lexia would be best (i doubt a dealer would do this for you) or you can get the lead you need for £25 quid of ebay and theres a user on here with info on how to do it using the lead and a laptop. Dont want to put his name up hear without asking first so when your ready pm me a phone number and il txt it to you. Youl still get the anti pollution fault up as it covers a host of issue i think the what might be giving you problems is the eloys tank being empty (just put some diesel in it and block the pipes off) wich will put the lights on and give you a anti pollution fault. So before you go anyfurther id do the ecu and switch that side of it off then run it for a few days before doing anything else
