  1. lol. we dont use special tricks or secret ways to change c5 bulbs. DRIVERS SIDE- put your hand and arm up between the back of the light and the suspension reservoir. remove the cap. put your hand inside the light and get hold of the plug on the back of the bulb (do not remove the clip yet). work the plug up and down while pulling it. not side to side!!!. after its come off then feel for the 12 O'Clock position on the top of the bulb and you will feel a raised bit of wire. push it down and move it to one side and the bulbs out. replace with new bulb with the tab up and refit the clip and then the plug. replace the cap and your done. same with the passenger side but put your hand between the wing and the battery. if its still to tight for you simply remove the battery and you can get access no probs. make sure you follow the shut down procedure before removing the battery if you chose to do this. just like to add my wrists a thicker than most peoples forearms and i am in no way double jointed and i dont have tentacles with eyes on the ends as someone wrote lol. also to move the headlight foreword you would have to remove the bumper to get to the bottom light fixing bolt. if you pull on the headlight without doing this you Will snap the bracket.
  2. no. the rear hight corrector has seized. look under the back of the car on the anti rollbar just to the right of centre and you will see it. it clamps around the rollbar and has a white plastic arm coming off it.
  3. no probs paul. let me know how you get on. cheers mate.
  4. first off i would fit a 1.6 vtr block then a set of twin 45's and a high lift cam. would not cost a fortune and performance would be fantastic. uprated brakes, suspension and a roll cage will have all been done so should cope no probs. think this will be more than enough but if not you could port and polish the head, up-rate head gasket and have the fly wheel lightened and balanced. thats enough from me because all this talk is starting to put ideas in my head.
  5. are they not just a mult hex socket.
  6. they are called external or inverted torx bits. you will pick up a rail of them from halfords for around £15.
  7. agree with big john about the imprezza. the cost of the mods + the cost of your car will probably come to more than a year old sti and would still have no where near the power. plus an imprezza will always be worth decent money. it would probably cost as much as an imprezza to insure once once you tell them about the mods. imo if you want a fast car you should buy a fast car and then make it faster.
  8. your right fishears. got my wires crossed. sorry about that.
  9. are the blowers working ok.
  10. theres a round black sticker near the door latch. remove the sticker and you will see a slot behind it. use the end of your key blade to operate it.
  11. sounds like the other cable is at fault then.
  12. "Basically its a big brother control issue i do not want or need" yea but it annoys macho idiots into wearing them and we all know how many lives are saved due to us being made to wear them by law. as someone else said why not walk. it will keep you fit and there will be less chance of you receiving terrible injuries if you have a crash due to you not wearing a seatbelt when as you put it flying around town. you never know, the walking might even make you loose a bit of weight so the seatbelt actually fits around you and then there will be no need to have it deactivated.  :o :o :o oooo how rude.
  13. your car has 2 gear cables. one works side to side and the other forwards/backwards. the one that works side to side sounds like it has snapped or come off the selector. can you get 3rd and 4th gear??????
  14. the cig lighter and aux socket do not share a fuse. the temp sensors are not bad to change and only cost a few quid but it will cause no probs if you leave it . check the vin number for bhp. if it has rhy in it its 90bhp and if has rhz it is 110bhp.

the info i have does not state if its an estate or not so you are probably right.
  17. got a set of he-man ctrls i took out of a c3. they have a cable and pulley system so would think they could be fitted to most cars. 2 cables run along behind heater box (clutch and brake). a pedal box bolts in to passenger foot-well and pulleys and brkts it drivers. £25 plus postage if you want them. the fitting instructions are there as-well. not the best picture but will give you a bit idea how they work. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w213/iannez_photo/PICT0024.jpg

4.6 litres including filter and should be 5w40 fully synth or 10w40 semi synth. the tyre pressures are 2.3bar or 33psi in the front and 2.1bar or 30psi in rear.
  19. lol. knew it was something like that. bit before my time i'll have you know.
  20. the clutch slave cylinders don't like being messed around with. normally start to leak when they are compressed to fit Back in behind the clutch arm.
  21. you are talking about a projector called a micro fish (showing your age). the dealer is connected to a data base now with all the info sent over the INTERNET. i have never heard of a site with this type of info for free. i know you can subscribe to auto data and get access to info over the net with this but not part numbers or diagrammers or showing you how to fit a headlights etc.
  22. sounds like airflow meter or egr valve fault.
  23. :o  :o
  24. i have done quite a few of these marvel and its just a case of removing the air box, drilling into the snapped bolt, knocking a torx bit in the hole and winding the broken piece of bolt out. even if it will not come out you should only need to have the outer casing of the gearbox renewed so you need to start asking why it needs a complete gearbox.
  25. i understand you bought the car with your hard earned cash and expect it as i would to be 100% but as kfk said these cars drive fine without this counter weight attached. what i would do is have the weight removed and forget about it as i could not justify the amount of time it would take to get this sorted but its your decision. for some reason Citroen love sticking counter weights here there and everywhere and if they were removed you would not notice the difference. your car mate so if you want it 100% i wouldn't blame you but it just seem like a lot off work to me for some thing you could live without.
