  1. this link looks like it will help http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&am...sa=N&tab=wi
  2. chances are its the water pump because when the car is standing and engine is off the pressure is released through the hole in the water pump housing as its supposed to do when the bearing fails, consider having the timing belt done at the same time because they are in there so could save some money in the long term
  3. if the ABS light goes off its working ok , the breaks need little effort to work due to them being hydraulik and pulsing depends on what you mean? if the break peddle pulses with it then its probably warped disc(s) and always fit new pads regardless of how new they are because they have been worn to the bad discs so will quickly ruin the new discs ad remember the pistons on the breaks on the front have to be rotated and pushed in at the same time because the handbrake is on the front wheels( halford sell the tool for that £20 )
  4. a few recalls http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q...calls&meta=
  5. does the coolant fan cut in?
  6. well worth a read http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DN if you were close to the boro I could have put my diagnostic on the car http://www.quinophex.org/car/suspension.html
  7. seen that happen with the C5 a while back it was doing press ups on its own, I only have a theory for it and put it down to electrical short or bad earth because his car was switched off and no one was in the car which means the system was going live and turning off hence it going up and down on its own, I don't think the strut would do that more like and electrical contact on the height stabilizer
  8. you would need the VIN number and number plate for DVLA and they charge a few quid and this will tell you where the car is, Citroen also have the data because the VIN says where/when it was made but not where it is now
  9. its on the heater blower unit so you need to get under the passenger side, simple to remove held in with 1 screw and you need to remove the knee covering to get to the heater blower ( that's the cover below the glove box ) this link should help http://images.google.co.uk/images?gbv=2&am...heater+resistor
  10. the FAP is just a cleaner filter and it gets clogged ( Ive heard you can clean it yourself driving at 70 mph for a minute or two with no deviation in speed ) it cleans it but does not reset the system
  11. does it do it when the engine is idling and out of gear not moving? if yes does the noise go when you press the clutch pedal? if yes then thrust bearing probable fault, my thoughts are on engine mounts or something touching when you put the engine under load like when pulling away because you say it goes when you accelerate
  12. The Citroën AX BB Cabrio was a small roadster derived from the AX (1988). In Portugal, Citroen dealership Benjamin Barral created an unofficial convertible version, called the BB Cabrio, originally powered by the twin-carb AX GT 1.4 L engine, but later available with any type of engine that equipped the 3 door AX. Considered very handsome, due to the lack of the usual rollbar that convertible normally require, these cars are now collector´s items and command a heavy premium over the normal models they are based upon. since it has a roll bar its more likely a modded car this link has the real makoy http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DN http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...%3D20%26hl%3Den
  13. caliper holder not caliper carrier, the carrier is fixed and caliper is free to move, caliper carrier is a separate UNIT FROM THE CALIPER edit # my appols I hit the caps lock button accidental like ;)
  14. wow remind me not to buy a car off you lol j/k ;)
  15. missfire / stumble it would leave a fault code like P0300 multiple misfire detected or P0301 cylinder one misfire if it didn't leave any of these code its a one off and bogus, someone mentioned ho to reset the tyranny but cant find the post it was something to do with holding the peddle down and switching the ignition on but not cranking the engine
  16. coms 2000 steering wheel hub thingy? I cant find the link on that but it was on aussiefrogs site
  17. some one posted on this one before and basically the tranny has gone into limp mode so needs resetting but someone will be along to assist you there, car is too new for me because the tyranny is like tiptronic and im not into that
  18. well in fact they should have locking paste on the threads by the book ;)
  19. engine light on means battery not charging, causes could be alternator / battery issue and could be a loose wire or poor earth
  20. remove the earth wire from the battery then put the ignition key in and turn the key on, wait 20 seconds and connect the earth wire with the ignition still on, now turn it off then back on that should reset the airbags ( you probably disconnected the battery to do the lights and remove the live wire and earth then put the earth on first then the live) live first then earth ;) also you don't need to remove the live wire when adding thing just the earth
  21. I wouldn't say conflicting ways just ways to do it and what your doing like if your changing the timing belt the flywheel has to be locked so it really depends on why you want to undo the main crank bolt, as for what tool to use the drill bit could be dodgy because it could shatter due to the high torque on the bolt but I use a junior hack saw frame without the blade of course as its very strong and fits perfect and it is like a tool with a handle
  22. so were are talking about the caliper carrier bolts which only need removing when changing the discs, yes they can be a pig but think of other ways to work them like as taxi says and grease should not be used on the bolts because they vibrate loose, to unbolt them use heat ant tap bolt heat with a hammer to break the rust up then applying wd40 this should free them up
  23. well you've covered most things that would stop it starting so lets look at some others, coolant temp sensor / glow plugs / fuel shut off switch / fuses, so it cranks and you can hear the fuel pump cycle for a second when you turn the ignition key on? there is a good earth to the engine ( even if it cranks it will not start without that ) and lastly the immobilizer?
  24. nope it don't work like that just putting in gear doesn't work the flywheel has to be locked in position ( TDC )
  25. when I check fuses I use a multimeter and check continuity much better resutls than the eye can see
