I've not noticed any difference in fuel consumption in cold weather. Yours definitely seems quite low. When driving it not-so-economically I can get 45-55mpg, spending about half its time in traffic. Just did a long 70mph motorway run (including an hour of stop-start traffic) - got 62.5mpg. C1 hasn't had an oil change yet (6k on the clock), so I'm hoping it will be even better after that. I love the challenge of getting good fuel consumption - even to the point where I'll stay at 60mph directly behind a lorry for ages just to slipstream. Will

Don't want to sound pedantic, but there's 4.55 litres in an imperial gallon. This makes your mpg 55.8 mpg. Still good though considering the amount of traffic you sit in! Will

Yep, I noticed the same problem twice with my passenger window. It stopped halfway up. I believe I was doing something along the lines of turning the heater on or indicating at the time. Worked when it put it down and then up again. Didn't look like it was physically jammed - basically stopped dead like an electrical / ECU fault. Reported to my dealer after 1500 miles, but as they couldnt reproduce it they couldnt fix it. The engine juddering when pressing the rear windscreen heater switch is normal - it's common on all C1/107/Aygo's. It because the extra load placed on the engine to power it isn't compensated for immediately, but takes a second or 2. Will

OK, brilliant. Couldn't find any KFC-1069S speakers cheaply (they're discontinued), but picked up a pair of KFC-1061S speakers which also fit perfectly. Compared to the Infinitys (which I managed to bodge in), the bass is now far louder, but overall clarity is a bit less. Funny thing is the Infinitys are about twice as heavy as the Kenwoods, and the magnet is huge in comparison! The attached pic gives some idea as to the difference.. It think the reason the Infinitys didn't sound as good as they could do was because my headunit (Sony 4x45W) wasn't up to powering them. I could stick the volume right up and still not get a very loud sound. In the end I'm happy I've 'downgraded' as the sound is very good considering both how much space there is and the fact that I'm using the headunit to power them. If I had an external amp powering the front speakers then things might be different, but thats very unlikely to happen :huh: Will PS. To attach my speakers in both cases I've bought a set of Autoleads adapters.. far easier than splicing cables etc :( (Autoleads part no PC2-824 for anyone who's interested).

Hi all, I bought some replacement front speakers after reading a few C1/Aygo/107 forums, trying to find a speaker model which would fit. I settled on a pair of infinity 4022's... but it seems as though these don't fit though! In fact I can't see how any replacement speakers would fit! See the attached pics - there's a big 'screw type thing' which gets in the way of the magnet (the big red one in the middle of the pictures)! How did the rest of you get around this?! Cheers, Will

Very informative and interesting read, apart from; I believe that Daihatsu engines are used. I don't know why Dacia engines would be used as they are owned by Renault! Apart from this, I enjoyed reading your post. It's useful to get a behind the scenes overview. I'm also a bit annoyed at myself that I got a C1 Rhythm instead of a 107 Kiss .. especially considering the sound system is a main concern of mine! Will

I'll lower whatever I can to make her handle better and fill the arches a bit! I have no idea of spring rates - I've not decided on any particular brand at the mo. I'm really just trying to gather info at the mo. Your post has quite surprised me, as many have said that "16s will go on a C1 no problem", but they haven't mentioned anything about rubbing (front or back). If you're getting those problems with 15's then I may need to look at getting some 6x15's instead! What profile tyres do you have on TurboSlag? Is your car lowered, if so by how much? Cheers, Will

Hey all, I'm looking at some 7x16 wheels, with 195/40/16 tyres. Eventually I'll want to get the car lowered as well. Can I do both without any rubbing (including people sitting in the back)? I've obviously seen pictures on various websites with setups like this (eg, http://my107.blogspot.com/2007/09/nice-red...geot-107.html), but there's never any mention whether rubbing is an issue or not. Perhaps someone here has got this setup and can comment? Cheers, Will

Hi all, just a quick hint. I got my C1 from Hartwells in Abingdon about a month ago. Couple of weeks later I found the economy to be lower than expected (mid-40's with careful driving). Checked the tyre pressures and found they were exactly 24psi all round! Pumped them up to 33psi and have left it a couple of weeks. Good news is that my economy is now at 56mpg on the last tank! Also good is that the pressures are still 33psi, although this does lead me to believe the pressures were low when supplied by the dealer! I'm not going to kick up too much of a fuss when I take it for it's 1500 mile inspection, but it's certainly worth you checking your pressures after you get your new car!! Cheers, Will

I just think that two 4" Toyota branded speakers are a bit rubbish :rolleyes: I definitely wouldn't call a couple of rear speakers on a parcel shelf outlandish! Hi Colin, Thanks for your kind welcome! I got it directly from a Citroen dealer, yes. It was actually already at the garage so I was driving it two days after going in and putting the deposit down (I made sure it's not pre-registered!). I basically got them to try and pricematch an internet price I got off www.drivethedeal.com. They did their best on price, although it meant that I couldn't test drive it first (in other words, hand cash over, get car, job done - just like the 'net). More than happy to do that though! No metallic paint (just plain red), but then I feel £350 is a rip off for that! I am aware of the glovebox lid, and its definitely going to be purchased, as I find it weird not being able to shut things away from prying eyes when parked! Cheers, Will

Ah great, thanks. It doesn't look like I've got the rear wiring. I fitted a different headunit today, and I've definitely only got 2 speakers wired from the ISO adapter, so I think I'll need to run some cable to the back myself. I've sent an email off to the local car audio company to see if they can do me an MDF shelf for a reasonable price. I did one myself a few years ago for a Citroen AX, but it didn't look very professional, and I think I might have some difficulty making one that fits around the pivoting point of the C1's shelf. Hi all, bought a new C1 Rhythm yesterday from my local dealer for £6656, so I'm a happy chappy ;) Only thing thats niggling me really is the sound system. I have a Sony headunit which provides 40wpc, so that should be a good upgrade to do when I've got a facia adapter. I'll also change the front speakers for some Inifinity ones as I've read that they're a good buy. After that I'll want to stick some in the back, but that's where I'm stuck. I don't particularly want to lose boot space, so a couple of 6x9's or 7x10's is the limit. Is there wiring already in the car for some rear speakers? If not, how hard would it be to install these? I'm also wondering about the parcel shelf, it's definitely not suitable for mounting decent speakers on. Can anyone recommend a place to supply a decent parcel shelf (mdf or whatever)? How much should I pay? Cheers, Will
