I have been told by a mechanic that the gearbox on my 1.4 westcoast is on the way out. There is grinding noise during engine braking and some times it doesn't go into any gear above 2nd or 3rd. I can't seem to find a gearbox from a westcoast at any breakers yard - apparently this is quite a common fault! I was wondering if any other gearboxes would fit, like the Saxo 1.4, or any Peugeot 1.4 cars? Any other suggestions are also welcome... Thank you in advance :D
