I'm afraid that you ain't got a case! It would appear that your dealer are doing all they can to fix your car - also you are in the minority of people who are disappointed with their car. It is annoying that you've had so many problems, but such is life. Don't waste your time and money trying for a court case - you will undoubtably loose. Hope that cheers ya up! :D

Just mind out if you replace it yourself - my old and new wipers have slightly different attatchments - I got confused, pulled the bit I had to on my old one to get my new one off and broke the hinge. Luckily, you can completely remove the hinge bit on both, and bodge them together! ;)
-
Mine usually likes to crunch, but mainly between reverse and first (usually from 1st to reverse, sometimes refusing to get into reverse altogether). My solution is to 'double-clutch' it in, usually works.
-
How'd you manage £35 for tyres? Mine costs £98 for the pair... ;)
-
Just beneath the door rubber seal - mine's come loose, and there's two small patches where about an inch and a half is starting to brown - it's not too serious, but it begs the question of where else that you can't see is rusting?
-
Haven't bothered tbh, it's only a light clunk. Next time you sit in your c1 with the engine idle, try it - it's quite quiet, and almost more of a gentle feel... Mind you, I'm getting rust issues (only 6 months old!) so I'll be going back to the dealer anyway.

To be fair, I think that this kind of parking is pretty irresponsible, and destroys the land - but that's not the issue here. The thing of low ground clearance can be a problem. Several times up in Scotland I have hit the road when going over really bad potholes (at very low speeds still), and at one point I dented my wheel strut thing by hitting a concealed rock when I was forced off the road by an aggressive van driver. Also I've found that if you load the back with heavy stuff, you are no longer able to go over any speed humps without a slight scraping noise! How anyone copes once they've fitted lowering springs, I don't know! (was considering it for when the warrenty runs out, but I think I'll leave it for a while yet!) Guess the moral to this story is, use the car where intended - on the road!

Was a bit surprising, but not too bothered really - I rarely drive with anyone after dusk, as I don't often have reason to. I love how basic this car is - all the panels and floor coverings feel really cheap and basic, and beneath the steering wheel you can see the column and everything :) Just a thought, does anyone get a soft clunk noise whenever the clutch is released in neutral with the engine idleing?

If you have a model with Central Locking (i.e. a Rythem), there is a push button that opens the boot, and it locks when the central locking is fired. No other way of locking, but no need for it. Hope this helps!

Hey all, my dad has a diesel C2 about a year or two old. A few days ago, he made a bit of a whoopsie and filled up with petrol instead! Thing is, Citroen are telling him that his fuel tank has been distorted by the fuel, which I don't reckon makes sense... About £100 to empty the tank, or over £800 to replace it? Seems a bit excessive, seeing as he didn't start the engine or anything. Anyone reckon this is legit?

I get a fair few stone chips - I think someone has said the paintwork is very thin, so chips tend to show up easier.
-
meh, I'm happy with aircon ;)

Shouldn't need to touch the battery for a fair few years unless there's a problem or you've left it standing for a few months... If there's a problem with it, usually best talk to your dealer and get it done under warranty - or at least diagnosed for free.

If you've got 'em hosted on something like Flickr or Photobucket, you can use the tag "](image url)[/img "

Umm.. Raise the suspension? I think the car isn't built for such large wheels I'm afraid... 16" seems to be the sensible limit for a C1.
-
I've got a Rythm, and I'm getting a fair amount of tuggage on the driver seat from many miles - and I've only done about 11K...
-
 Eeep! I'm a really aggressive, fast driver - and on combined cycle I get around 340-360 miles to a tank, and when driving better get around 380-400 miles - record currently 414.6 miles to a tank. :(

Yep, only 18 at the moment - The only reason I mod my car though is to make it feel mine. Sounds a little generic, but I'll elaborate: My first car was an old Proton GLS (for those who don't know, it's a clunky old saloon car, looks like a squarer Vaxhaull Carlton). It was a hideous shade of light blue, and had many problems - including a window winder that broke, a clutch that was already very worn, squeeky wipers that didn't wipe very well and a ventelation blower that on full blast blew leaves. Still, it was my own car - I had the money to buy it, insure it and fuel it, and with it's quirks it was a bit fun. Also, it was different to most people's boy-racer saxo's, 106's and the like. When the clutch went finally (after owning it for about 3 weeks), I decided I could either keep spending money on the car, or get a new one. My Gran gave me 8 Grand, and told me to buy something safe (and brand-new, hence the lack of a cheap BMW!) so I had the choice of a C1/107/Aygo, or a Volkswagen Fox. Liking the look of the C1 more, I got it - on full options; aircon, alloys, the lot. The thing is though, after a few weeks the novelty of owning a brand-new car went, and I missed my old car. Having a car that you couldn't possibly afford yourself (as a poor student :P ) means it didn't feel like my car. I feel that I have to personalise it some more, to try and get that 'my car' feeling. Haven't quite got there yet, part of me still wants my Proton back. I would have ended up not modding it at all (bar some security things like central locking, better locks, alarms and stuff). There, that was nice and in-depth :(
-
Sounds pretty nasty stuff - but I've seen the crash test on both the C1 and it's predecessor the Saxo. Although the C1's roof moves, the Saxo's roof gets completely reshaped - and that's only a 40mph crash.
-
Mine was a little over 8 grand - I got the Rythem 5dr, with alloys and air con. Still, I pay a fair bit of detail to it's cleaning - but I use a sponge and shammy, polish after - I'd never really thought about the swirl marks, but I'm probably not going to change. I like to do a fair bit of modding here and there, and so I'm just getting started with my C1 - although the go faster stripes wouldn't suit mine's colour.
-
Eventually got round to fixing this problem - got a tar, sap & bug remover from Turtlewax. Was about £6, and works a treat!
-
wahoo. We really need a luxury arm rest in a tiny car.
-
:( Erm... that's a little bit in-depth for an 8-grand car isn't it? Maybe that might be worth the effort, if your car is woth several tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds - but a C1? No way. You kinda dodged my question too though; I asked how to remove bug splat, but I'm guessing that a gentle massage for the car ain't gonna do that at all well...
-
The bane of all drivers when it comes to hand-washing; but is there a way to help us along? Just wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions for getting rid of bug splat (especially old and motorway splats) that works well, preferably avoids excess hard rubbing, and prefferably keeps the paintwork intact!? At the moment, I'm left with the option of leaving it (blegh) or hard rubbing with a hot shamoire leather...

I replaced mine recently with a pair of XT42-ND. They only just fit in, but work okay...ish. The trouble is, the left speaker makes a vibration with any bass at all, the left cover no longer stays fixed down, and both speakers are fairly tinny (more so than before), although the last problem is probably due to the dodgy way I've connected them...
