Retrofit Reverse Cam To 2010 C5 Tourer With Navi?
Johndouglas replied to Sixchannel's topic in C5 - Technical
That sounds a grand idea if it would work. I have a camera on the rear end of my caravan but it gives a picture all the time, not only when reversing. The picture is displayed on its own 7x5 screen but if it was on the nav display, it would be much better. -
Hello & welcome. Which engine do you have? What's the mileage? Your problem could be caused by a few different faults. It's best to have the fault codes read with a diagnostic meter.

Hello & welcome to the forum. Looking at the note you've attached to your profile, you have an interesting story about your car. I've taken the liberty of copying it to here:- I am an retired mechanical engineer that most of the time was a Chief Designer for a bus factory. Finally I now have the time to enjoy my citroen 2cv Charleston. This 2cv was "found" in the forest and I luckily found the owners name in the old car registration papers witch was left in the car! The owner of the car was very happy that I would remove the car. We then sign the required papers so I could get the new registration papers with my name on it.

C5 2009 Heater Blower Not Working
Johndouglas replied to Nickcreed's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Glad to hear that you have it sorted. With C5s it seems weak batteries can lead to all sorts of electrical malfunctions. -
Stop Light-Temp Gauge-Rad Fan- All Come On At Same Time
Johndouglas replied to wcs1's topic in Problems and Fixes
On the first problem, it could be that your temperature sender is playing up. It will cost you about a tenner for a new one from Citroen. It's situated in the right hand end (as you look at the engine) of the cylinder block and it's held in place by a clip which goes downwards. There are a few pipes etc to remove for access. Yes! The clicking could be the rubber braking up in the crank pulley. It needs checking pronto because if it separates when it's spinning rapidly, it can cause all manner of trouble. -
C5 2009 Heater Blower Not Working
Johndouglas replied to Nickcreed's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
I must admit that I haven't removed my glove box however, looking at the Citroen service site it would seem that there are two screws inside the deep part of the box, two screws inside fuse box area, three screws vertically along the top edge and three just under the door lip and the door hinge pins. Also to remove the glove box entirely the passenger side airbag switch will also have to be disconnected, also the glovebox light, so it would be advisable to disconnect the battery before starting. -

I believe there are ten screws in all holding the glove box. Have you found them all? -
I believe you have a hydraulic clutch on your car. For a starter try bleeding the system.

Citroen C5 2010. Parking Sensors Not Working
Johndouglas replied to Alexwpoole's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Mine just has a blank filler where the switch should be. If you have the switch, then you'll have the sensors. Will the switch remove so that you can test for 12volts? -
Citroen C5 2010. Parking Sensors Not Working
Johndouglas replied to Alexwpoole's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
As Paul has pointed out, not all VTRs have them. Mine hasn't didn't, although I've since fitted them to the rear -
Is the clutch pedal working correctly now? I believe your cable isn't self adjusting so it needs adjusting manually at the gearbox end.

Anti Pollution Fault, And Loss Of Power On Motorway
Johndouglas replied to vinny's topic in Technical Section - C8
You need to have the fault codes read first. Without them no one knows where to start. A couple of years ago I had a similar thing happen. I cleared the code, started the engine and the fault never returned. Never did find the cause of it. -

Turbo Failure - Timing Belt Jumped 10 Teeth
Johndouglas replied to easymove's topic in C5 - Technical
Have some teeth been torn off the belt? Difficult to tell without removing it. Is the belt tension still correct? Maybe the tensioner pulley has moved. When was the belt fitted? -
I think you're right on it. I get the same message box because I spend four months in Spain. I can't log on here whereas I have no difficulty when at home. My Norton programme normally logs me in automatically.

My previous C5 at one point in its life became a reluctant starter. Finally I put it with a Citroen dealer. They eventually decided the engine wasn't being spun fast enough - even with a good battery. A change of starter motor solved the problem.

Hello & welcome to the forum. Can't answer your question - maybe someone who can will be along soon.

You could well be right about throwing up fault codes. How about changing the fuel filter. You will get a bit of cranking done before fuel comes through.

03 C5 Estate, 2.0 Hdi, Won't Start After Fuel Lifter Replacement
Johndouglas replied to tomkranz's topic in C5 - Technical
It certainly sounds as though air is being drawn in. Maybe the bleed screw was loose and has vibrated out. As a temporary measure, see if you can block the bleed hole with a rubber plug -
Hello & welcome to the forum. There is a related Picasso forum available but it has its own membership enrolment.http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/

Having a remap done is all very well but if you are using the extra umph you are going to use more fuel. Also on previous C5s I've had the particle filter removed and it never showed any difference in fuel consumption. When you achieved your 38mpg, what distance and type of roads was that over? On my own C5 I can register as high as 60 mpg taking it easy on a motorway but currently my average is showing only 44 over the last 500 miles. Best way to measure is to brim the tank, do a week or so running then brim the tank again and divide miles by fuel. And winter time gives poorer fuel consumption with cold starts and longer warm up periods.

Did you spray the two bearings on the antiroll bar? I've had those go noisy on previous cars. You may have to remove the undertray to reach them.

If you go to www.service.citroen.com and register as another professional and a member of Citroen Owners Club, you can enter your VIN, find the handbook you need and see it online.
