  1. I would imagine that the country where the parent company is based gets the best priority. Perhaps thats what it is with Citroen. They keep all the good cars and spare parts for themselves. Maybe ouspare parts are the ones the French returned as faulty? Maybe the cars are not tested in our climate. Maybe they only work smoothly next to vinyards? Porkie, what do you rekkon happens when we get to 100 posts? Do we get another blue blob?
  2. "My car never has been on a recovery vehicle yet." Mine's been on TWICE. And the front spoiler is ever so close to the ramp as it goes up. Bet it clattered it on the way back down.
  3. " I have regularly managed overall figure of between 60-64 mpg. Motorway runs alone perhaps 66-68." It doesn't count if youre C3 is on the back of a recovery vehicle.
  4. "Only 80 miles and no trouble? Don't speak too soon my friend." doomed, we're all doomed. Forgive porkie and myself being miserable about our cars. We have had no end of troble with our C3s, Citroen themselves, the dealers, and lack of women. All directly caused by the C3. But my engine trouble seems to be better. So there is hope. And maybe Citroen have fixed the bugs/faults with the C3 so new ones might work! hope u and everyone else has a happyer c3 experience than us
  5. "The only thing thats chpped on my car is the paintwork. " Boom Boom! yes those kind are sooo anoying Contacted a company that chips cars, but the C3 1.4hdi-16 is not yet available to be chipped. shame, would like 30% more power....what is 30% of nothing ;-)
  6. "You waited 4 bloody months for parts?" Is that not normal for parts to arrive from France to UK? When I made enqiries about the parts, Citroen France didn't know when they were going to get the parts from the manufacturer.
  7. "What sort of REAL LIFE mpg figures can I expect? The quoted figures seem quite optimistic" From mine I have seen 60mpg when driving at between 70-90mph to wales. Have found it do 65mpg, but never on short runs. Also air-con seems to randomly affect the economy from drastic loss to about 5miles less on the first segment of fule (if that makes sense)
  8. Speaking of falling off, something on my C3 has "fallen off". Well Actualy I think it was the Dealer who looked at my car. They were good and fixed problems the Dealer I bought the car off couldn't/wouldn't fix, but I noticed sometimes a lound vibration when turning out of junctions. After investigating, I found a piece of plastic not in place correctly. And I cannot get it to fit properly, so its now in my boot. Its the bit that covers the turbo intake I think. Has a twisty thing to lock it, which does not reach the hole. And it has a pciture of a light bulb on it. Its on the right hand side. Anyone know how it fits on?
  9. I know I waited for "Boost Electro Valves" from end of October to end of Feb. I can't remember what was fitted that made it work. I think it was the EGR, and it did hesitate a bit a cople of times and its now fine, although I think when its cold it does hesitate when accelerating, but its less than a second, its just not smooth. But it does it once in a blue moon. I don't think mine does temp. Will have to check.
  10. Which button shows the temp? does the SX do this? And the dealer still not sorted even now? What can we do? Dodgy C3 even makes a mention on the top gear site http://www.topgear.com/content/my_topgear/...ers/citroen/04/ not for bad running, just for parts availablilty.
  11. How is the car Porkie? Still awaitng the oil sensor, will ring grage today to see if its arrived. Had a saxo with a sundroof that never leaked in 3 years. Through the third year you could see it didn't fit as well as it did when I bought it.
  12. If it does it again, try opening and closing the doors again. Or stick the ignition key in and see if the display tells you it thinks any other doors are open.
  13. I've noticed my Childlocks come on by themselves when I've turned on and off the central locking, but they don't light up so I don't know untill the people in the back can't get out. Not had my hazards come on except when decelerating rapidly. Or pressing the brake too hard by accident. Only smells form my air vents that were caused by my car were fumes. I do get the "fresh" country air smell, but I live in Cumbria, so thats to be expected and its only certain places I get that. Don't think its the car. Must say the filters don't filter much do they?
  14. Sometimes I've had squeaky brakes, but just assumed it was rust building up. I love my brakes generaly. After owning a saxo its nice to have something that stops. My steering does on occasion seem a bit heavyer than it should be but maybe it thinks I'm going faster than I am as it is varible. Had a few rattles, 2nd Dealer sorted the gear box rattle. Noticed that sometimes the seatbelts knock against the side causing more rattles. Believe Citroen's are well known for cheap interior.
  15. "In the case of the C3, the unit is made from pig excreta" Actually I think the ECU is running some form of MS Windows. What we are all seeing when we get a loss of power or it doesn't start is really a General Protection Fault. Try pulling the door handle, turning the indicators on and tap the brake to reset it.
  16. I still find I have to keep adjusting my volume, it often is too quiet as I increase speed and to loud as I come down again. Driven my boss's passat and I can tell when that increases and it does a good job or letting me hear things.
  17. "Better still, douse the car in petrol." now you should know it wouldn't burn properly and the flames would just die and ocasionaly roar for a few seconds. Its up to your dealer to sort out your car if you speak to citroen. If you get your car through finance, it is upto the finance company as you are actualy hireing the car from them, so if they wont provide one, you can go get a hirecar and sue them. I don't know what happens if you actualy have paid for it all. Speak to your trading standards they might have a clue.
  18. "A haynes manual would be really useful, not to fix the car, but to understand how it works" and then maybe the Dealers might understand :)
  19. The Desires that I have seen do not have the lx marked next to the quater-lights and they have the word "desire" on the back.
  20. Don't know why the dealer won't give you a loan car other than spite. They still must get paid by citroen to fix it. When I took mine to another dealer they said they would give me a car even though I didn't buy my C3 from them
  21. Have you found out what the com2000 is yet porkie?
  22. The stuff on that site sounds familiar. Arghhhh. Setting up a website myself, if anyone wants to send submissions and ideas. www.ihatecitroen.co.uk its nothing really there at the moment. But the picture is amsuing.
  23. take it to another dealer. some dealers are useless.
  24. Please I had some usefull contrivution to this site ;-) Does your gearbox rattle? Complain about that. Don't let them off. Unless they are nice dealers who can actually fix things.
  25. I'm told if an engine miss-fires it can damage the cat. But your experience has made my exaust in the cockpit look almost accepatble.
