Hi there, I've just bought myself a Xantia that's got exactly the same problem. I haven't tried it yet but a Citroen breaker told me that just giving it a sharp tap should free it. You will probably need to get out the instrument panel to do this. I've got to replace a few panel bulbs as well so I'm waiting until the weather gets better. Oh for a garage! As I was looking for a replacement tacho I think the breaker was telling the truth as he described the cause you mentioned as well. Best of luck. Langdon
