As promised - got the part(s) and had them fitted by my local dealer. Almost had a heart attack at the price of the O-Ring that I had replaced (AU$60.00). How on earth can Citroen justify the price for a rubber ring that is about 1/4" in diameter? The hose set was reasonable at AU$95.00. Anyway it's all fixed and cost me a total of AU $282.00. Thanks to all for your advice.
Thank you both for your responses. The leak is from that pipe - are the pipes metal or plastic (not sure without pulling back sheathing)? And how are they disconnected? Looks to be a simple enough fix but want to be sure before I start dismantling.
My C5 has developed a fuel leak in the fuel return line. I know very little about this but would like to know how to fix it. I have attached pictures to show the location of the leak. Any help would be appreciated. ** Pics won't upload ** Link to Aussie Frogs pics. http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/attachments/citro%EBn-forum/66068d1423696768-2007-c5-2-2-hdi-fuel-leak-20150212_084522.jpg
Thanks, Paul. Note that this fix only worked because there was still one magnet in the cap (I assume the sensor is only on one side of the filler neck).
Update: Checked the fuel cap and, sure enough, one of the magnets is missing. Took the cap off and gave it half a turn. Reinserted it and locked it. Problem solved!!!! Thanks again.
Thank you both for your welcome. I figure that I would be able to get more info on my C5 from a UK site as Citroen in Australia is considered part of the luxury import market and not common on the roads here. Have been reading through your forums and found them to be very interesting with some very knowledgeable people. Cheers... Kev
Just found this via Google (and joined the forums because of it :) ). This is the best explanation I have come across about this problem. Will be checking the things you mention on my 2007 C5 Sedan. I also checked the visible switch(?) like ej2095 did and realised that it wasn't a switch at all. I live in Northern Australia and Citroens are pretty rare on the road here. I am a member of Aussiefrogs forum and would like your permission to repost your answer in that forum (as nobody seems to know about this problem). Cheers..... Kev
