  1. Next Little job is....
  2. Mileage 'LCD' will probably be a bulb behind the dash, replace that and it'll be fine, had the same thing myself.
  3. I scraped all the old silicone off the head, rubbed it down with emery cloth and then degreased it and the lower rocker cover before applying a bead of Iinstant gasket to it - up to the lip - and added an extra 'blob' to the corners, before setting it onto the engine block. I torqued everything up and cleaned the EGR valve before replacing everything. I didn't run it till the next day just to be sure! Three days later, all seems fine! I am a happy chappy! Thanks for your help Paul. Off topic now. I see you are in Warrington. I was born and raised in Orford until I moved to Wales in 1988. It's changed a lot now!
  4. Thanks for the information paul.h. That Citroen Service page is excellent! What do you mean "the lower gasket is only listed up to RPO 08394."? It is interesting that only the upper gasket #024495 is shown in the exploded diagram of the engine, the other gasket I have is not shown, but appears to be present in the Engine Gasket Kit #0197X6. I am confused, but instant gasket looks favourite now! What are your thoughts? I need the vehicle running in the next couple of days.
  5. This image I found from a Peugeot 206 forum is useful...I have the correct gasket that fits between 4 and 5, its the one that goes between 5 and the cylinder head I'm pretty sure is incorrect. In fact on that same forum I found a picture of a 1.9D engine which also had just silicone as a gasket! http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/repair-206/206/images/b/b1dp14pd.gif
  6. Hi, I'm Ian from North Wales. I am new here but not to forums. I have recently bought a 54 plate Dispatch 1.9D for a very good price and I'm really happy with it so far! Struggling to find any technical specs or manuals, apart from the Peter Russek one I bought from eBay.
  7. Hi all, I have recently bought a 54 plate 1.9 Dispatch, variant BZWJYB, engine DXFP. the rocker cover gasket (I'm guessing the 'lower') was reported as being done in December 2012 however there was a bad oil leak coming from the 'upper' gasket. I ordered both gaskets from eurocarparts, the upper gasket was correct and fits fine but the lower gasket although it is the right size, doesn't fit as there is no groove in the alloy rocker cover for the gasket to fit into! When I removed the cover there was just a bead of silicone sealant! Is it the wrong gasket? Should there be a gasket or is silicone instant gasket enough?
