  1. Paul, thank you for doing all the leg work with the complicated forum info stuff....yes MK1 C5, found the problem in the usual place !!!!..........broken wire in the rubber seal at the top of the door, the door lock motor must send a signal to the BSI which activates the lights, thank you very much for guiding me to a satisfactory conclusion.
  2. no 12v supply to the lamps, continuity on earth fine, checked wiring diagram in the Haynes manual but no sign of a switch, has to be a switching mechanism surely.....!!! any ideas please ???
  3. i have the same issue now any resolution please ??
  4. Guys, strange stuff going down, the air re circulation decided to start working last night......but then stopped again !!! this morning it came on again, also came on with the ECO button then both went off when the AUTO was activated, sounds about right hurrah !!!! tried it tonight it is not working at all, any ideas please ?? operator error could be an option !! cheers.
  5. Paul/Stephen thank you, no the button doesn't illuminate or work under any circumstances, will have a nose at the motor, up high in the drivers footwell is not ideal for a 20 bloke......sigh
  6. Hi all, my C5 has this auto air temperature/flow control business which all works very nicely except for the air recirculating button which doesn't, could anyone please point me in the correct fault finding direction ?? Thanking you.
  7. thank you, am on the case, have sprayed wd40 down the channels of the window thinking this will enable better slidability, recommended course or action or not ?
  8. hi all, please help me if you at all can, the driver side rear window was sticking whilst going up and down, so removed the door panel etc and wd40'd the mechanism inside, then the motor stopped so i unbolted it from the regulator...big mistake, the glass slides up and down lovely until i put the motor back in, now it rattles, vibrates, screams, howls....you get the message, window does go up and down just very loudly, have greased and sprayed everything in sight but totally stumped, any ideas gratefully received. cheers
  9. that is exactly where it is, took some finding but job is now done, thank you again.
  10. SORTED !!!!! a big thank you to one and all, the air intake flap was stuck in the closed position, a firm finger soon opened it, decided to have the pint and peanuts and twiglets myself today to celebrate, bless you all.
  11. Paul, this just gets more bizarre by the day !! i turned the temperature up to full and the air came flowing through the vents but as you lower the temp the air flow reduces too, that surely makes no sense ??? there is a pint and a packet of peanuts for the person who cracks this !!
  12. Mike, nope afraid not, it blows the same on all settings, but after i have put the air re circulation on it won't then turn off.....!!!! so don't know if that may be of some relevance ?? also, please tell me is the system meant to intake air from under the windscreen ? because when i had the scuttle off the flap between there and the blower motor wasn't opening when i put the blower on ?? it's all confusing stuff.......
  13. Paul have now checked the outside air intake and all is fine no blockages at all, i slightly opened the flap that goes between that and the motor and it was blowing like a tornado, am now even more convinced i need to somehow get behind the matrices !! thank you for your continued support,
  14. Paul, have checked with the news paper and anti pinch works only one day it may not and i cannot trust the lives of my dogs to a car that is notorious for electrical faults, spoke with a number of local Citroen dealers and even they weren't 100% on how to disable it....!!!
  15. Cheers Paul, is it possible to examine the flaps around the matrices ? i have no issue with hot or cold so the final flap could well be the culprit, will have to get the vac on the outside air intake seems to think it is a plant as it has a number of leaves on it.
  16. Please guide me on this good Citroen people, when it rains, which it has been doing quite frequently of late all four door windows automatically close, now this is generally speaking a good idea except when my dogs how their heads poking out of them, in the handbook it states that to disable this function i would need to take it to a Citroen dealer........surprise surprise !!! i have got me a lexia diag thing hoping this will be the answer but have absolutely no idea how to use it, any help appreciated, thank you
  17. Paul, yes the flaps were moving, i'm going to investigate flow blockage would i be correct in assuming that after the matrix in the pollen filter housing there are only ducts that lead to the vents ?
  18. Hi, What year and model do you have? it is an 04 plate 2.2 hdi exclusive diesel estate. Are you saying that the blower speed increases and decreases when you change the control but that there is no effect? yes the blower speed increases/decreases and there yes is an effect, the problem is at full blast the air blowing out is weaker that i would expect, i checked it against another identical model and there was much more air flow on that one. Can you hear the blower quite loudly? yes. You say you have had the blower motor out, does it run fine and change speed when it is out? Yes absolutely, i took the pollen filter out to change it and the air from the motor in that little chamber was terrific. Have you checked the air intake under the bonnet to make sure it is not blocked? No,do you mean below the air filter ? I have had the whole heater aircon system out of a C5 and stripped down and the system cannot completely shut off airflow with the flaps only divert it to different outlets terrific you are the man to guide me to success then. It is possible that either the evaporator, heater matrix or additional electric heater unti are blocked, especially if the car has previously been run without a pollen filter as that is the only filter anywhere in the system am i correct in the assumption then that: the air from the motor flows down to the pollen filter housing, goes through the filter then the matrix into the outlets ?? as between the pollen filter and vents is where my problem seems to lie. Thank you for jumping on board with this one.
  19. Paul, there was no increase in air flow at all when the flaps turned, i removed the blower motor and pollen filter again just in case something was wrong there but sadly not....sigh !! looking forward to your next instruction, over and out.
  20. so....i have removed both motors on the passenger side, checked they are working, checked the flaps are opening by turning black star shape, checked the evaporator matrix is clean and appear to be no further forward, are there also two similar motors on the drivers side please ? have stuck my head under there but nothing seems obvious apart from what looked like a large white crescent shaped thing with teeth but that could be a horrific image of an ex girlfriend, i must be at least half way to solving it by now !!!!!! thank you again
  21. brilliant Paul, thanks again, I'll give it another go and report back.
  22. Paul, forgive me for seeming dense but by this do you mean taking both the small motors off then turning the black star shape they fit into by hand ? also where do i find the motor shaft please ? I'm sure it is perfectly described in plain english but this is a source of much confusion for me ! sorry to be a pain. Thank you again.
  23. Paul, the two motors by passenger side footwell (top vent and bottom heat) I am convinced are both working fine, what i'm not convinced is the blowing as good as it should be, could it just be because it is climate controlled and it doesn't blow as hard ? or could there be another avenue for me to explore ? cheers Mark.
  24. Paul, thank you again, I am now very confused....are the flaps in the motor housing (two, above where the resistor pack is) the ones for the vents or not ? the links seem to suggest it is passenger side with a black star shaped thing !! totally baffled by this, please help !!
  25. Paul, the second link you detailed above http://www.citroen-o...or-air-bag-ecu/ just takes me to the main topic page unless I am missing something..... Mark.
