emmas xsara Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hi All I know this has probably been on here so many times, (But I can't find it), My daughter has a 2003 Xsara Diesel, that now has an Airbag warning light on. (She thinks the kids where trying to get something from under the seats) I know that an OBD2 reader don't work on this model, So what I need to know is, what cheap reader will work on this car ? if you know of one on the bay, or if you know of someone that has one in the North Down or Belfast area of N.I. that can do the job for me, then plz let me know asap plz.cheers Joe. paul.h Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 The connectors under the seat may be loose so worth a look. If you do try them, make sure the key is not in the ignition switch and wait for about 15 minutes and also consider disconnecting the battery so no chance of an air bag going off. I do not know about the Xsara, but on the C5 quickly disconnecting the battey can cause problems so there is a procedure in the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned post that has worked ok. Cheap code readers only cover engine fault codes so an air bag fault would not be read and cleared. You would need a dealer type Lexia for this and Chinese copies are on ebay for around £100 and these use your lap top. Some members on here have used easy diagnostics but they are dearer than other sources http://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/#/shop/4570415775/Citroen-Peugeot-Lexia-3-Kit-Diagbox-7.33/7076454 Unless you will be using the equipment more than once, it may be less cost to use a dealer if trying the seat connector does not work.
