paul.h Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Welcome to the forum. I replaced the timing belt on our 1.4 petrol a few years ago and the hole for the flywheel locking pin (there is not one for the crankshaft pulley) is at the lower end on the front of the engine block, a bit behind and to the gearbox side of the oil filter and takes a 6mm pin. The webbing on the block makes it a bit awkward to fit, I used a 6mm rod which once bent to shape worked well - the straight bit to go into the hole is 50mm long and the rest of the rod was shaped so it could be maneouvred from above. The camshaft sprocket was locked using an 8mm bolt (Haynes says 10mm) through it and in to the hole in the cylinder head. Quote
