hi all

i have just checked my suspension fluid on the new to me c5 and it's milkey white with orange globes in it. is that normal for lds after some years its an 05 reg or has some thing been put in there that should not have been.

if i am going to refill it whats the best way to do it and is there a guide?

Your LDS shouldn't be milky white.   It should be orange.   Obviously something has been added to the tank.   If the car is new to you can'r you return it to the seller for there comments.   A garage should put it right.   LDS is expensive - around a tenner per litre and you'll need four litres for your system.   Draining entirely is a complicated procedure since if the pump gets air into it, the system needs to be put under pressure to refill the pump.

The concern, if 'foreign' liquids is put into the hydraulic system is that the rubber seals may be damaged.

i am a mechanic and engineer so should be capable of beading and refilling the system i'm just unfamiliar with the systems and fluids used and was asking to see if any one was going to say it's a fault with the spheres or something.

rubber bits are replaceable at locost so i don't mined replacing them just some of them are hard to get to
