Aussie C5 Driver Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi all - Im new to the forum and have a problem setting this function of my 2006 C5 Citroen. The automatic door locking was working correctly when I purchased the car but the previous owner said the parking assist (rear and front) wasnt so my husband (mechanic) took the boot area back to basics and found one of the sensors not connected - this was connected and now parking assist works great but the auto door locking doesnt. We have tried resetting through the Trip computer to turn deactivation to activation but none of the menu buttons change this option - hence Im driving around in a car that wont automatically lock itself - I can manually lock both front doors with the key but the back doors stay unlocked. Also when I would drive off I would hear a click when the car got up to a certain speed and the doors would automatically lock themselves - this function doesnt work either. Hope someone can help - my husband is quite savvy with anything automatic but not quite up to scratch with todays electronic computers in cars. Thanks again Quote
paul.h Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The auto locking when above 6 mph is activated/deactivated by a long press on the dash lock button under the heating controls. In my handbook it is on page 68. Quote
Aussie C5 Driver Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Thanks paul.h - yes the same information is in my handbook - Ive been using this function as the automatic door locking wasnt clicking in as it was previously doing. By any chance do you have any ideas regarding my other issue on changing the menu item from deactivation to activation. thanks again for you response. Quote
paul.h Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Does the menu just say if the locking has been set by the dash button to activated or deactivated rather than the menu being the means of setting it ? Quote
Aussie C5 Driver Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 When I go into alter the deactivate door locking on the Trip Computer menu I press the OK button to highlight that item but I cannot change it to activate, the highlighted line just moves down to the next item - I hope Ive explained this so you can understand Quote
citrophile Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The trip computer will just tell you what the current status of various functions is. Some, like the door locking are not set within the trip computer. Paul is correct. To set the auto locking you need to press and HOLD the lock button until the display indicates that auto locking is turned on/off. Press and hold toggles this function on and off. Rob Quote
Aussie C5 Driver Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 thanks for this hint will try - cheers Quote
barose Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 On my newly acquired C5 Tourer am trying to figure out the tailgate and rear window not opening. I have removed all the rear door covers and there doesn't seem to be much wrong so far. The voltage on the brown wire of the catch reads between 5 and 7 volts. To me this would indicate not a broken wire. After reading this post I wondered if the tailgate, rear window and rear parking sensors (also not working) think the car is moving at 6mph through some other malfunction, and thus would not receive the 12 volts needed. Any suggestions. Quote
barose Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 This morning I tried to hold in the door lock button to activate/deactivate the auto locking but nothing happened. The trip computer says the auto locking is activated but it doesn't lock the doors when driving. There seems to be a malfunction in the system. So far I have noticed the tailgate wont open, the rear window won't open and the auto locking feature doesn't work. Any suggestions. There are no rear parking sensors on this car even though the buttons appear to be there on the lower bumper, must have been an option. Quote
barose Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 The tailgate catch wires are brown, purple and green (3 wires). The brown wire only registers 7.5 volts. When I jumper 12 volts across terminals the lock motor works. The problem appears to be a lack of adequate voltage.Looking at the wiring diagram the brown wire goes from the catch to the BSI terminal 2. The purple wire goes to the BSI terminal 16. It appears to be the BSI that is only sending 7.5 volts or a bad connection in the loom. A broken wire would only let zero volts through. Any suggestions? Quote
paul.h Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Thanks for letting us know how it was fixed. Where was the broken wire ? Quote
