While I'm about on here, I'll mention I've noticed the C5 has generated a couple of gremlins over the past 9 mths.

Auto lights come on occasionally at random. Usually before 8am taking the other half to work while it's bright sunshine.

The suspension doesn't rise to its highest level. Or at least doesn't acknowledge that it's at full height. Yet I can go through the other suspension levels fine with no issue.

Roof blind has disconnected itself twice yet every other time it's 100%.

I leave the car for a week at work and the front passenger tyre looses .5 bar. Which puts it into flat tyre warning but the tyre and rim look to be fine. Can the sensors be serviced?

Have you checked the level of the LDS? It may need topping up. Regarding the tyre - they can often get slow air loss. Can be anything from a nail in the tread, leakage because of rim damage or even a leaking valve. Other than changing the valve, the sensors can't be serviced.

If the tyre is losing 0.5 bar a week (1 psi a day), then it should be easy to find the leak point. If the tyre valve, then a bit of spit on a finger held over the valve and around its hole in the rim will soon show a leak. Similarly if the wheel is removed and then inspect the tread for anything stuck in such as glass or a nail - again the spit test will give small bubbles to show a leak. Around the tyre/rim - a bit of washing up liquid in water will show a leak by bubbles. If it is none of these then maybe the alloy wheel is porous and immersing it under water will show a leak.

I've had the tyre changed on that wheel. RAC checked the valve and he said it doesn't appear to be leaking. He also cleaned the rim so we'll see how it gets on.

My latest one is the Tailgate opening randomly even when I lock the car. Doors can be locked as the mirrors stay in yet boot opens or the whole thing unlocks as if I'd pressed the Tailgate button on the key fob.

It's not the main battery slowly dying?

If you have a spare remote key try using that in case there is a problem with its buttons being too sensitive/dirty/something in the case touching the button.

You can probably switch off the auto lights if you do not want to use them - your handbook should say how. If you do not have a handbook you can read/copy/print it from the service.citroen site http://service.citroen.com/ddb/

Well,

I've sorted the electrical problems out with the car. New battery and all is well on that account.

Tyre issue is no more, by the looks of it, the alloys needed a proper scrub when the tyres were replaced.
