HI im new to the forum,

my C5 lost all power engine still running no smoke no noise wont rev past 1500 when you try to rev engine just splutters, engine starts every time, air hose at front of engine on the left implodes everytime you start the engine. The AA suspected it was the turbo so its been in the garage for over a week. they have tested the EGR valve found no fault, they have now sent the turbo away for testing at a turbo specialist, still waiting for confirmation on that problem. However the garage seems to think that if it is not the turbo it could be an internal blockage in the engine. I suspect i am looking at mega bucks for a repair here.  The car has 54000 on the clock. IT appears to me to be air starvation.

Any help or tips would be greatly appriciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Is it just a case of the air hose having degraded so it can not take the normal suction vacuum, if not then maybe the air filter has blocked up and needs changing. In any case, any restriction has to be between the air hose and the air inlet so it can not be the engine or turbo since if I have this right, these are on the engine side of the air hose.
