Hi everyone,

 

I've been dreaming of having an XM for 8 years and now I have mine!!! I'm still learning it and I have a first problem to solve. The remote control key didn't have batteries. I bought new ones but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to set or reset the central locking from the remote? Please help!

I'm assuming its a late model facelift XM.......turn ignition till all dash lights come on, press button on remote control.

I tried what you said but it still doesn't work. I have a 1993 XM 2L Petrol manual RP 5980. I heard it's a 1.5 model? All I know is that the climate control is digital compared to series 1. I'm still using the keys but I'd rather use the remote control as parts are difficult to get here in Mauritius and I would love to spare wearing out my keys and locks.

 

Any resetting clue most welcome please.
