Hi just purchased a 55 plate 1.6 auto for spares for my wife's c3. As it's too good to scrap was wondering how to fix. Comes up economy mode and all lights come on dash it won't turn over , car in park foot on brake. The last owner replaced the aux belt and tensioner as it snapped. Any idea's.

Economy mode is nothing to bother about, it is a Citroen/Peugeot thing that shuts off things like the interior lights and radio after some time if the engine is not running and they are left on or a door is opened a lot. It will clear once the engine runs again.

Check the battery voltage, it should be about 12.5 volts, much less and it will not turn the engine over.

Will try that tomorrow and get back to you. Thanks

The battery light flashing is probably since it is in economy mode.

Maybe you should check if the engine has seized by seeing if you can turn it with a spanner on the crank shaft pulley nut.

Next thing is probably to see if the wiring to the starter motor is ok and the engine/gearbox earth wire is ok. Then check if you are getting voltage at the starter motor - Check for 12 volts at the starter thick wire and then get somebody to turn the ignition key to start the car (gearbox in neutral and handbrake on so the car can not move) and see if you get 12 volts at the starter solenoid from the ignition switch and also on the solenoid out wire to the motor and listen to see if it clicks. If you are getting 12 volts in these places and the starter is not turning then it may be faulty.

Engine turns OK by hand haven't checked starter motor circuit yet. Did a test and came up with this p1755 and p0744 any one had this codes before and what's needing replaced.

From the fault code lists on the Petrol Diesel LPG section:

P0744 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Intermittent

P1755 Intermediate Speed Sensor (ISS) Malfunction - but elsewhere gives P1755 "Clutch actuator fault: Incorrect position in relation to the reference value. Coherence"

So it looks as if there are problems with the auto gearbox. These topics suggest it may need a new clutch actuator http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43399

Thanks for that would this still stop the car turning over. May source part or may just break car. Will keep you updated.

It probably is preventing the car starting, the second link includes a list of symptoms for P1755 and one is Starting impossible - maybe if the car does not know which gear it is in it prevents it turning over.
