Adee Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 HiI have just picked up a 10 plate crosser, which is very nice, but while playing with all the buttons like you do on a new car, I came across the ASC OFF button on the lower right side of the dashboard near the cup holder. From reading the manual it suggests the button should turn off the traction control and highlight this on the dash display. But when I press the button it activates the central locking mechanism for the boot and releases the boot door so it ajar.Any ideas? paul.h Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Welcome to the forum. When you unlock the car with the remote key or with the driver's door switch, does the boot also unlock and open or just unlock ? Thoughts are there is a wiring fault (possibly behind the dash/around the door pillar/in the sill) or maybe the previous owner had the switch function modified. If using the remote to unlock the boot and it opens, the lock may need adjusting. If the car is from a dealer you should take it back to be checked but if bought privately then ask the previous owner about the button. Quote
Adee Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Hi thank you for the welcomethe remote and drivers door switch operates the doors and boot fine and only unlocks, when the asc off button is pressed the boot releases to the saftey latch position I suppose and pops open about 4-5mm.I was wondering if this type of vehicle every had a option for remote boot release button and been wired up incorrectly and the wiring for the asc off button is lurking behind the switch somewhere? Is that s silly idea? Adee Quote
paul.h Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 It will be worthwhile looking at the wiring behind the switch. Possibly it has been wired in parallel with the boot release switch at the boot. If so you may find the wiring is different - Citroen wires are usually numbered in small letters rather than using colours so it may be obvious it has been rewired. In the Haynes C5 manual, it shows the tailgate switch simply earths a wire from the bsi (cabin fusebox), so if your car is similar, the wire from the switch would only need to connect to the switch wire on its way from the bsi, not all the way to the boot and the switch other side to the nearest earth point. Adee Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 HiLong time coming, but have resolved the asc off button and the boot lock, Manufacturers recall on the BSI unit, had it replaced for free, all sorted everything working fine now.Hope this update helps someone else. Adee Quote
paul.h Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Thanks for getting back to us. Unless something has happened to the bsi, then this fault may have been there since new and to be a recall there will be a lot of cars with the same fault - pity Citroen did not get in touch about the recall. Maybe the previous owner never tried the asc button. Quote
