angelatempest Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Hi we have just purchased a Citroen C5 VTR 2.2 diesel estate, 2004 vehicle and haven't got a book. Can anyone tell us how to activate and operate the cruise control? Guessing it is the second level on the left side of the wheel but early experiments haven't managed to turn it one yet! Appreciate any tips and will probably feel stupid at how simple it is when we do find out! Quote
paul.h Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Welcome to the forum. This is for a 2007 C5 and may apply to your car. The control switch is at the left side under the steering wheel and has a slide switch to select cruise or limit, an end button and 2 side buttons. To use cruise, slide to the cruise position and when travelling at the desired speed press one of the side buttons. The selected speed is displayed on the speedo panel (your car may be different). The accelerator can then be released and the car will maintain the set speed. To adjust the control speed whilst in use, the top side button increases it and the bottom side button decreases it - each press adjusting by about 1 mph and a continuous press by 3 mph.Cruise is disengaged when using the brake or clutch pedal, if the gear lever is in neutral or if the end button is pressed.Cruise can be reactivated by pressing the end button or if a different speed is wanted by pressing a side button when at the desired speed. To switch off cruise, slide the switch to the O position or stop the engine. angelatempest Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Great thanks Paul we shall have a go and see if that fits in with what the car has. Much appreciated! Quote
MikeLane Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) ...Also, on 2005 - 2008 models, cruise control works on 4th and 5th gear only, very annoying in the proliferating 20mph zones!. (Not sure how it works with an automatic gearbox.) Edited February 14, 2016 by MikeLane Quote
