MikeLane Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 With CIS again this year. Their renewal was about £58 more than last year @ £353.46.Tried Saga, £437. LV wanted £470 then I went back to CIS and said I'll only be doing around 10K miles this year - not 12K and they knocked about £19 off. New premium £334.19.This is for Fully Comp, European cover for up to 90 days per trip, full UK and continental breakdown, enhanced courtesy car, protected NCD and legal assistance (voluntary excess £150). paul.h Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Mileage change of about £1 per 100 miles is similar to Direct Line if you need to increase the miles. Much below about 7k miles and there is no saving. You need to watch some companies though since a mid term change can have about £20 admin fee (eg Admiral) even if there is no cost for the change. How you describe your job/retirement/unemployed though can have a big effect. I vaguely remember reading about the unemployed having highest premiums since they may be out going for interviews yet they may be doing the least miles, unlikely to be out in rush hours and can least afford the cost. MikeLane Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 (edited) Just about to renew with the Co-op. Tried Direct Line - over £500 and LV - £90 more than the Co-op so, even though it's gone up by about £40 it is still the best I can find at £374 for the same cover as my previous post. paul.h Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Some of the increase will be the increases to insurance tax. Quote
