splinternet Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Has anyone installed a maps update to the NaviDrive NG4? Specifically, how many CD's should I have? I just bought the 2016-2 update from carsnavigation.com, the instructions, such as they are, mention 2 DVD's and 2 CD's: (1) insert CD1 Firmware, install it. (2) Insert DVD1, install it. (3) Insert DVD2, install it. (4) Insert CD2/POI, install it. Whilst I have 2 DVD's, there is only 1 CD "Firmware Update". This seems to be the CD mentioned at instruction (1). Should I use this same CD again at instruction (4)? Quote
Red_Tourer Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 I assume by now you've solved this one but in case you haven't, I've never had a CD2/POI disc and I've done several updates. I've only ever had 3 discs. For what it's worth, using DVDs is very slow. I usually transfer the contents to USB sticks and use those. Also, if you have a later version of the firmware, it's possible to perform the updates while driving. With the early versions that would cause a problem due, or so I was told, to the tyre pressure sensors. I've also done several firmware updates and it's not worth transferring those to USB as they're quite small. The latest version I have of the firmware is NG4_42.03_N42c (taken from the test describing the software on the disc) and the latest maps I have are 2016-2 which is the latest from citroen.navigation.com Quote
