speilberg555 Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 can anybody tell me where the battery is located on the C8 please Quote
CM2007 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Under the drivers side floor. There is a flap in the carpet which you pull towards the drivers seat then upwards. This will then reveal the battery and some fuses Quote
lions200404 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 PROCEDURE FOR battery DIS-CONNECTION (The 3 Minute Rule)Whenever a vehicle battery has to be dis-connected, switch off all equipment, interior lights etc, close the doors leaving the drivers window open.Switch off the ignition and remove the key and any DIAG equipment.Wait a full 3 minutes before disconnecting the battery. The BSi must be allowed to go to SLEEP i.e. into "power save mode". Do notoperate any equipment on the vehicle during this time. Remember, evenopening the bonnet will wake the BSi on a vehicle fitted with alarm. If the battery is under the bonnet, open the bonnet first and leave it up. C8batteries can be dis-connected through the drivers window, remove floor coverfirst. (note, Pics are under the passenger seat)ALWAYS disconnect any DIAG equipment and do not operate any plips fromother vehicles during the 3 minute waiting period.PROCEDURE FOR battery RECONNECTIONUnless otherwise instructed by Product Service, you must alwayscarry out the following procedure, often referred to as a "soft re-boot", tominimise the possibility of the BSi corrupting its own software whenreconnecting the vehicles battery supply.Ensure the procedure for battery disconnection has been adhered to andimportantly all BSi functions were switched off with the drivers window leftdown.1 Close all doors2 Remove ignition key if left in ignition3 Reconnect battery. DO NOT open any doors4 Wait 10 seconds5 Switch on headlights through the drivers window (you will hear a "bong") (note: Snap-on says Side-lights)6 Switch on ignition then start the vehicle and check system functionsNOTE: Upon reconnection, if any vehicle function controlled by the BSi i.e .interior light is switched on,the internal operation of the BSi has the potentialto spike or corrupt its configuration and software program.... paul.h Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 I have edited the procedure to remove all the links to ebay websites, we do not allow spam or advertising on the forum. Note the driver's door can be left open but its lock closed around a screwdriver so the car thinks the door is closed since the door position switch is part of the lock. Rather than 3 minutes, it has to be long enough for the bsi to shut down and save any settings which could be more or less time but can be noticed by the electrics going quiet. Quote
