xsara99 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Hi all I used to own a Xsara and posted a fair few times on the cxoc site. Not having had the car for a while now I've had no reason to visit, but I do have a question related to the stereo and tried to post on cxoc to get advice. Only to find that it seems to be gone... Or at least taken over but something cyber-weird. But I did find this site, and wondered if it is the new incarnation or something totally separate. If the latter, does anyone know what became of cxoc? Many thanks Max Quote
paul.h Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Welcome to the forum. I had not heard of cxoc until now but this forum has been going from at least 2003. Quote
xsara99 Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 OK, thanks for explaining. Well, it's good to be here :) Shame about cxoc as it was a great and helpful forum. Never mind. Whilst I'm here... My query is about the old stereo from my xsara and how I might potentially use it in a different car. I've got problems with the code and other questions, which I won't go into here. But what I wondered if whether it would be better to post in the xsara forum or the I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion forum? I see the last entry in the latter was in June, so I'm guessing it is not a popular forum.... Cheers Quote
paul.h Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 It does not matter too much where you post unless specific to one model. This forum does not have a large following of active members, just a few regulars and often it can take some time for a response. As far as I know, Citroen radios are coded to the car they were originally installed on and if the battery is disconnected they do not need a code to be used to get it to work again. However, this might be different on ones more than about 15 years old. If the radio is then used on another car it may not work properly or beep until it is recoded to the new car with a diagnostic. There might also be places or radio repair shops that can decode a radio so it can be used elsewhere but a quick internet search did not come up with anything. Quote
Dogdan532 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I dont know what happened to cxoc i was on it and responce time was good , See how it goes here ,i had no responce yet after hrs but in no rush , Cheers all Quote
john h Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 What is amiss with the picasso site it has thrown a 404 fault up every time i try to open it, exactly the same if i go direct to the citroen picasso owners forum, surely this is not a spin-off from adblock plus, no other site or topic is effected Quote
paul.h Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Maybe on the Picasso site it is under maintenance or its server has tripped, only guesses though. See if it comes back on tomorrow. If not you could try a message to this site's admin gteuk since he also looks after the Picasso site. Quote
john h Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Dont know about others but its been down about 4 days for me Quote
paul.h Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I tried the Picasso site and got the same message 404. The site's admin does not come on these forums very often, unfortunately if it needs a fix it could be some time before it is sorted. Quote
john h Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Thanks for that, you just get the horrible feeling its your own computer at fault, thanks again, just keep trying I guess Quote
