lightfj Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Hello All,I have been trying to get the rear bumper off my C5 for a while now, I have some reversing sensors that I need to fit but cannot figure out how to get either the bumper trim off or the bumper so i can run the wires from the boot through to the buper. Can anyone help ?? depends on hte type of sensors you want to fit. The type i have fitted to a number of cars has a hole cutter provided in the kit. The wire is fed though each hole and collected under the bumper, the and is attached to the sensor and the other run to the control unit. You should not have to take the bumper off! Quote

lightfj Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I have the same kit i think....with the cutter...how am i going to grab the wire after i have pushed it through ? The holes are drilled through the black skirt below the body coloured moulding. The wires are releatively easy to grab asa you push each one through. Ther should be a grommet in the floor towards the rear of the passenger side wheel arch. My estate has the factory fitted type and this is where they are fitted. The tow bar electrics come through said grommet anr run behind the side trim on the passenger side luggage bay.I am struggling to get the sensors aout of mine cos one has gone faulty.Good luckLightfj Quote
PaulCartwright Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 you have to take off the real lights and there is a 10mm bolt under each one. remove the inner wheel arches - nightmare - 2 10mm bolts in the wheel arches and bobs your uncle mine has the factory fitted ones and they are in the black area at the bottomn of the bumper if your looking at removing the insert in the bumper you need a pair of plyers and start at the one end and remove the clips to get the ends off hope thats helped Paul Quote
