han606k Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I have a C5 VTR HDI 54 reg.The multifunction display has stuck on the trip function, ie mileage since last reset. Pressing the button on the end of the wash/wipe control stick has no effect. Other information on the display (radio/suspension level etc) is normal but I cannot acces mpg/fuel range functions. Incidently the front bumper has just been replaced after minor accident damage, and at the same time the windscreen wiper tubes were unblocked, however the mech who did the work assures me that there was no need to disconnect the battery, there are no sensors on the bumper and the only electrical function was the operation of the washer pump to push through the water - however the multifunction display has only had the problems since this work. Any hints/fixes would be welcome. Quote

I'm going to suggest the obvious one - try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes ... see if that doesn't bring you some joy ... No idea what might have caused it though (push comes to shove - the displays show up on ebay from time to time for about £20 and are a quick 'n' easy swap, but somehow I don't think the display is the problem here :( ) P Quote

I'm beginning to think the wiper stalk button may be faulty, everything set up OK post battery reconnection from the two buttons by the display, but the wiper stalk button has no effect whatsoever. Any other hints? Quote
shallishanti? Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Sounds like the stalk switch as you say. Do the wipers etc work ok? Hopefully this doesn't go throught the Com module. Quote

paul.h Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 You may find it is covered as part of the 3 year warranty so no need to pay for repairs. Quote
