ellerelle Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 does anyone else have this problem? especially when going around corners or when on an uneven road, the rear tyres are slipping, and the back end feels like it is all over the road :) I have had a good look at the tyres, and there is nothing physically wrong with them, they look almost brand new, and the car isn't exactly ancient either (56 plate with 2000 miles on the clock) is this something that can be solved by whinging to the dealer, (a problem with those particular tyres) or is it a problem inherrent to the make, that I will just have to put up with? taxxx Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 My mate feels a bit of wooble in when gover bumps in his Jan 05 C3 Desire but he has put it down to the suspension. He has done 6,500 miles. Now mie dosen't do it but I got a different type suspension as mine is the C3 Exclusive. Quote
stimulator Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I find this on my C3 but only if there is an uneven part of the road. In Crawley the Tushmore roundabout has a ridge that goes across the road just after the spur road down to the M23 when you are going SOUTH. If I cross this at more than 15 mph the back end feels like it is leaping into the air and sideways. By chance I was following a Focus which has a similar rear end suspension system (springs and dampers) and that too 'jumped' into the air. my other car is a Picasso that has torsion bar rear suspension it doesn't jump like the C3 So I'd not worry too much about it justa characteristic of the car. On all othyer bends etc the car stick like sh1t to a blanket. Quote
ellerelle Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 traded the sx in for a brand new 07 c3 desire, dont wanna jinx it but suspension on this one seems alot better, took it out on country lanes in the rain this evening and it held to the road fine, dont know how it's gonna react on sheffield roads, but I was having a fair few other probs with the other car too, think it was just a case of buyer beware on second hand cars, dont know how that car had been treated before I got it, the only wobble I got with this one was in the middle of an emergency stop, the ABS kicked in which was an experience that I have never had before! lol Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 What engine did you have in the SX and what have you got in the Desire? How come you down graded from the SX to the Desire. Even though I got the Exclusive I do like the SX model. Quote
ellerelle Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 I must admitt I liked the SX too ( even though that particular car was driving me to distraction with all the problems that kept popping up) but after a word with the dealer I found out that there were no SX's in the country and it would be six to eight weeks to order one in, asked about the VTR too, and same goes for that one. (If I had got to the dealers a bit sooner it would have all worked out, missed the last sx in the country by ten minutes gggrrr) so in the end went down from a 1.6 sx to a 1.4 desire, but cest la vie, at least this one WORKS! no more slipping out of gear, no more suspension probs, no more central locking f**kin up and lockin me in the damn car! Guest CE05LDB Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 I see bad luck mate. You always find that if you only been a bit earlier. I had to wait 8 weeks for my car. My Brother used to have the C3 1.4i SX Auto and it had a few problems and it nearly killed me when driving it once but I still liked the car. I looked after it for my brother aranging the service and any warranty work that needed doing on it as my brother just drives it. Any problems he asks me to sort out for him.lol When the Gear Box worked it was a nice car to drive. His New C3 Exclusive Sensodrive has been a complete nightmare since week one and still is to be honest. He said its worse than the C3 SX. Its drinking fuel. He puts in £10 every other day. Now My C3 Exclusive Sensodrive has been a great car. Its run like Clock work. The only thing I have had to have done under warranty was a new plastic trim under the bumper as it came off as these bloody cars are too low. And I had to have a New Hand break Handle as the button finally broke on the other one. And The Hand Break cable needed adjusting. Apart from that its been great. How old was your C3 SX Quote
