WVN Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Hi all. I own a 1.6 SX Pack Eur C4 2006 and i have the following to ask: . Are side windows laminated or just the windshield?. If yes, Is it a standard issue on all models?. How can i recognize and make sure that are laminated indeed? Citroen dealer claimed over the phone that they are, but a m8 of mine says that laminated windows are recognized by the thin visible layer of "something" between the two glass layers. What do you guys say? it says so here http://www.citroen.com/CWW/en-US/RANGE/Pri...005_COMFORT.htm Regards from sunny Cyprus ;) Quote
wozza Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Unless you have spec'd the extra security up or have a VTS you will not have laminate side glass. Its an extra on most models but comes standard on the exclusive and VTS. Quote

Is there any way or anywhere written in documentation that i do or do not have lams windows? Quote
C4VTS Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Thanx for replying wozza but, i requested to have the complete Pack of extras. Is there any way or anywhere written in documentation that i do or do not have lams windows? I think only the rear windows in the VTS are laminated, and that was confirmed by a windscreen installer. Have we all been conned, as I presumed even the front side windows were laminated? Quote
wozza Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Do you have the alarm etc? If so chances are your windows are laminated. An it is the side ones too. From what I read its just a thin sheet over them. Nothing wedged in the middle. On the VTS the rear is tinted but they should all be laminated. Quote

wozza Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Wasn't talking to you mate :P Knew the VTS was like that. But read it somewhere that all the side windows should be laminated...probably Citroen not providing full and proper information again though. Quote
Mat Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Throw a brick at them. If the brick bounces you have laminated windows. If the brick doesnt bounce you no longer have non-laminated windows Quote

Is there any way or anywhere written in documentation that i do or do not have lams windows Doesn't matter what any Citroen (or other manufacturers) spec sheets say they all have a small print get out clause along the lines of ...reserve the right to change the specification at any time. They did this with the 5dr VTR+ spec replacing the closing boot pocket to just an open pocket. I was told by a Citroen dealer that when the Picasso production line ran out of standard fit sun roofs a batch of them came of the line with solid tops. Even if you think you are getting a certain spec of car you may not be. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Scarbro Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Checked my VTS today (Mar 07 reg), the rear side windows are marked as laminated and if you open the door windows and look along the edge of the glass you can see and feel the lamination. Not sure about the glass in the hatch part, didn't look there. Quote
