Guest Vezda Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I have a 02 C5 HDI 110 (Saloon). When you unlock the car the boot lid pops open, before driving off anywhere the boot needs to be closed. Once you have got to your destination and decide to get out of the car, opening any of the doors will make the boot pop open. The switch on the dash does lock the car but when unlocked it does pop the boot. (Even when driving along)The button on the boot will not make it open once closed.Has anyone got any ideas before I go mad. Just to add I have replaced the boot catch mechanism under the advice from a Citroen mechanic. This did not fix the problem.. Quote
Randombloke Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I have a 02 C5 HDI 110. Saloon or estate? The first thing I would check is if the lock plate on the boot lid is showing signs of not engaging properly with the spigot on the other side, see if you can see any scrapes or similar. Then I would look in the lining to see if the linkages are properly connected or catching anywhere. I suspect you have a saloon, so can't offer details as I have an estate. Quote
Guest rowls Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Possibly a faulty microswitch which you use to open the boot or the actual lock mechanism is faulty as its controlled electronically. Quote
