eduk Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Hi all, My first post here. I have just bought a 2004 C5 I 2.2 HDi Auto Excl. Against good sense I bought it without having any workshop manuals, so I'm asking for help. I have read all the threads here and though removing the front valance is mentioned a few times, I can't follow a few things. I can't see how to release the extending piston (of the headlamp washers) from the little plastic covers that sit on the bumper. (Well I can see a few ways, but I'd prefer not to break anything, yet :) ). Do I have to get a narrow flat screwdriver to bend down the flat tab (that extends backward) from the cover? It sure looks ready to snap off. Any advice very desperately accepted. Thanks,Ed Quote
eduk Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Solved it. It's easy when you realise what to do. You have to push the black hook upward from below to relase the clasp. The cover then just rotates forward and downward to disengage from the pair of lower hooks that extend rearwards from the cover. Next problem is the valance itself. I think I have released all the (very few!) fixings that I can see, but it does not want to disengage from just below the rear of each headlamp. Once again I think I am risking to break something. I did read some advice here to just patiently jiggle it, so I'll give it a shot. Ed Quote
