Guest Visa10E Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I'm looking to get ipod conection in my 02 C5 2.2 HDi Exclusive and was wondering - if I fit an aftermarket stereo, will I have to buy some kind of adapter so the audio stalks & dash screen still work? I'm loking at doing this as the standard head unit is a bag of s**te and need to plug a sub/amp in also Quote
wozza Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Yep will need adaptors. This http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/29650-mult...tor-p-4181.html And 1 of these depending on headunit you pickhttp://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/steering-c...e-c-47_719.html Quote
Guest Paul52 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I have a JVC MP3 head unit and all the leads needed to fit your model. Quote
Guest Visa10E Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Thanks for the replies guys, the first item listed seems to cover all bases, why do you need to purchase the second item (granted its only a fiver but this is turning into a costly excercise as some twocker nicked my ipod in Amsterdam last weekend so thats got to be replaced too!) wozza Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 the first one is the main bit. The 2nd is the interface for whichever type of headunit you have. You can't expect an Alpine adaptor to work with a Pioneer or Sony unit etc. So they have multiple adaptors instead of one large expensive one which would be a pain due to all the connections needed to fit behind the unit. Make sense now? Quote
Guest Visa10E Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Cheers guys, I've got it booked in for next weekend, decided not to bother with an aftermarket unit and just get my ipod wired into the CD changer port and keep the car looking standard inside Quote
