Guest Visa10E Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Hi there i've suddenly started getting the red stop sign on the dash (02 C5 2.2 HDi Exclusive) and the message 'tyre(s) punctured' when there's nothing wrong with them - I take it that it's a faulty sensor - are these a dear fix? Ive noticed that one of the dust caps are missing - could that be a factor? Any help appreciated Quote
techbod Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 it used to be a good idea unfortunately the sensor is stuck inside the wheel and is battery operated so if the batteries run low its down to the tyre fitter for the fix ( not a very clever toy )could be the tyre place has this toolhttp://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...2GB283%26sa%3DN it might just need resetting Quote
Guest Visa10E Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 So do I need to take the car into a tyre fitter that has this gizmo (bearing in mind that the tyres are all OK) or to a dealer? Quote
techbod Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 personal choice really, if it were me and the tyres were ok then It wouldn't bother me just annoying mine doesnt have that gizmo and im glad of that, I give the tyre a viewing every time I take it out of the garage and check the pressures every week and woudnt rely on a gizmo to tell me I would still check them my self if it had that thing :D Quote
Guest Visa10E Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Nevertheless have you got any idea of the cost involved to put it right? As you've said it's really annoying having the big red 'STOP' light on all the time! Quote
Guest Visa10E Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Just got back and found a sodding nail in the now flat tyre! Ah well at least the sensors were working! Quote
