vinrex7 Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Last night the clutch on my 2001 1.8 lx went, the car then cut out, and today it won't start. when i take the main fuel hose that goes to the injectors off it pumps fuel for 1 or 2 seconds and stops, and also there is no spark from the plugs. The car has now gone into eco mode and the windows are down so i can't get them up. any ideas would be great. The aa put it on a machine and said there were no faults recorded. please help guys. The AA may well of plugged it in but i belive there are only 3 types that can actually get into citroen fault codes properly (could be wrong on that bit). so start by checking the crank sensor Quote

coastline taxis Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 The clutch just went, The pedel just started to vibrate and about 5 miles up the road the clutch had gone.Check the crankshaft sensor as it sends a signal to the ecu to tell the injectors when to open and also to coil pack to tell it when to fire. Its an easy check 10mm spanner move a few hoses out the way and itl be out in 10 minssteve Quote
techbod Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 so it cranks? meaning the battery is ok or not if it doesn't the reason im asking that is the windows don't work and that cant be associated with a crank sensor and could be the battery earth to the engine and chassis might be loose, crank sensor is linked to the no spark issue and fuel pump then there is the inertia fuel shut off switch which is designed to cut fuel and spark to prevent explosion in an accident or a power over load :rolleyes:Â if its the inertia switch you just have to press it back in Quote

The only way to get it of (that i know of) is to start the engine then windows and all other components will work normally Quote
techbod Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 or remove the earth lead form the battery and switch every auxiliary thing on which will drain the memory of the ECU and reset it to factory settings, this is a gray area in diagnostics and I cant say too much but at least thats a start and more will follow in bits due to the big C  Quote

Engine will then fire straight up Quote
