Hi, New Member Here. Got a C5 Exclusive and the computer keeps telling me there is a tyre fault. I have had them checked for balance, wheel alignment and pressure. I am sick of the big stop light and the computer reminding me. What is the fault it could be relating to, as I have no owners manual to give me anymore detail.

Maybe a fault on one of the sender units within the tyre. Does it say which wheel?

No it does not say which wheel. Just that there is a tyre fault. It does not even say what is the problem. It is driving me up the wall. Also the front passenger door wont unlock with the remote. I have to unlock it with the key.

The vehicle needs 4 wheels fitted with sensors on each corner of the vehicle......if the spare is used on the vehicle and that wheel subsequently placed in the spare it will come up with a fault.....they must be at the correct pressure.....not just look ok!

Where tyre pressure sensors are fitted to the vehicle the valve stems are solid, if someone has replaced a sensor with a conventional valve stem it can be recognised by being rubber in appearance and will wobble from side to side if you push it with your thumb.....if any of the tyres have an ordinary valve stem fitted check to see if the spare has the correct fitting.

If after that you are certain you have 4 sensors fitted to 4 of the wheels in contact with the road you will need to seek specialist advice as a computer will be required to carry out programming and diagnostic checks

I've just had a puncture on my car and the tyre pressure sensors required resetting.

KwikFit said they could do it by inflating the tyre to 60psi, then deflating, but that sounds like it could stress the tyre and reduce it's life.

National said it would reset itself after 50 miles.

Dealer charged me £15 to reset the ECU.

I had the tyre fault message. A Kwikfit manager who was a C5 enthusiast arranged for the tyre indicated to be removed from the wheel, and we found a two inch by 8 woodscrew in the carcass - no loss of pressure, but somehow the damned thing knew. Apparently there is a popular trick where the village idiot sets a screw against the tyre so that as you drive off, you are "screwed".
