Guest Visa10E Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Whilst driving down the motorway last night listening to some tunes the stereo decided to partially stop working, the sound coming out of it all distorted as if the radio wasn't tuned in - thing is I was listening to my ipod at the time, this distortion is also present when the radio is on too, however if I turn it right down to say level 5 it goes away, only returning in intensity the higher I turn the volume up, is it possible I've blown the speakers or is this a fault anyone else has come across it's driving me nuts as it's rendering the sound system useless! Car is an 02 C5 2.2 HDi Exclusive, 75kIt's unlikely that youve blown all the speakers at once - Use the balance and fade controls to move the sound around the cabin and you should locate the quadrant which is blown. Then use the tone to determine if you've blown a mid-range or a tweeter.although from your description it sounds like you've blown the outputs on the Amplifier - which means a new head unit... nice motor ... got the same myself Quote
