JenJen Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Have you seen this? http://www.citroen.com/NR/rdonlyres/E5396C93-75B2-4B0D-8678-DA178AD1670D/120641/08179007.jpg http://www.citroen.com/NR/rdonlyres/E5396C93-75B2-4B0D-8678-DA178AD1670D/120643/08180002.jpg http://www.citroen.com/NR/rdonlyres/E5396C93-75B2-4B0D-8678-DA178AD1670D/120645/08179004.jpg Quote
Martin_1973_uk Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 It is just a new front bumper, hardly a whole new car? Looks a lot better though. I have noticed a lot more C1's on the road recently, are the sales picking up? Quote
downsman Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I have to say, I don't think it is an improvement ! I have noticed a lot more C1's on the road recently, are the sales picking up? When I bought ours early this year they said they were selling all the C1s they could get hold of, and since then we've had the changes in road tax, huge petrol increases and the credit crunch :o Anyone still buying a car at the moment is probably trading down a size. Along our road last year there was one 107 now there are three C1s as well :) Quote
Andy Worsfold Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 While my C3 has been worked on I've had the pleasure of driving a C1. What a fun car. I've really enjoyed the last few days. Quote
CE08LDB Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Citroen must be doing it too match the New Restyle C2 and C4. Quote
techbod Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I wouldn't buy one but I quite like it ( too small for me ) :o Quote
ColinC1 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Anyone still buying a car at the moment is probably trading down a size. I actually traded up in size from a two seater Smart Fortwo, to a C1, as I need a four seater :o I do not like the new facelift as the car now looks like it has a big gaping mouth :) Quote

I think you'll find that best best pleasure of owning a C1 is that it isn't made by citroen, hence unlike your C3 it doesn't often have to get worked on. Why do people buy Citroens still as the French just can't make cars that stay relaible? I think the new front looks better but wish they would do something with the front lights as they just don't look as neat as the 107 or Aygo. The rear of the C1 is still the best of the three though. Great cars for the price :-) Quote
littleminxx Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 i have to say i prefer my shape the new 1 is to much n does look like its got a streched mouth but i wonder how much diferent in other areas it is ? Quote

Trotsky Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Looks like something dragged out of a Pacific abyss....and to think I once thought the Ford Cockroach / Sierra was the ugliest car ever made. Why can't they leave well alone if the original design works ? Quote
Martin_1973_uk Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I can't tell much difference with the pictures of the 107 to be honest. I think the new look C1 looks a little better but the front lights need to be more angled rather than round and cute looking as it doesn't work for me. I would buy another one after the three years are up :-) How can you say the Sierra was ugly, it was a legend in its time and totally different to anything else on the market. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Quote

750Nig Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Aygo looks loads better. Where do the stylists/designers get their ideas from. I remember a Ford designer saying the Austin Princess (competitor to the Sierra) was a great big flying turd. You still see a few sierras about but very very few Princesses. Also BL/Austin/Morris etc have gone but Ford is still with us. Ford must have got something right, personally I thought the sierra was pug ugly too. Quote
Martin_1973_uk Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 The reason FORD are still about and British Leyland/Auston Rover have gone is due to the size of the company. Ford use to sell 20% of the world cars with GM selling 40% in the middle of the last centuary. We'll soon be left with just 4 or 5 super car makers as the cost of design and development becomes to much for small companies. The Princess was terrible, British cars were notoriously unreliable. Hence we don't have any majoy car manufacturer these days that is British owned. I owned two Sierra's in my time and they were both very good cars. The Austin Rover Montego I had was nothing but dreadfull......... Quote
ColinC1 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 You know that Citroen TV advert for the C4 transforming into a robot and back, well...After seeing the new facelift on the C1 I was thinking a new TV advert. A C1 drives up to a microphone stand surrounded by a backing band, then the C1 gets up on its hind legs (wheels) and starts singing with that big gaping mouth of a grille. I could picture the animated contorsions of the 'mouth', just like mick jagger, he, he. It might not help sales a lot, but it would give us all a good laugh. MORAL.....What does a car designer do when they have a good existing design.... they ruin it with a terrible facelift ! Quote
CE08LDB Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I have seen the 1st new C1 on the road this week. Its one letter out from my brothers C3 Registration so it must have been registed on the same day or the same week Quote
