Hi all,

I have had my Xantia 98 2.0 automatic for just over a year now, and i'm planing on giving her a service this weekend, but a few things has stumped me a little and that is the LHM and air/pollen filter. My LHM is a reddish/brown colour, when i think it should be green (am i right) why is it this colour and is it best to drain it and clean the sphere out? Now the air/pollen filter should i just clean it or get a new?

Also could some one tell me what this is, inside on the roof at the front there is, what looks like an eye camrea, but its not any ideas

thanks inadvance

As you say, LHM should be bright green. Dirty brown shows it's been neglected and is way over it's change-by date. If you feel like doing the job it's best to remove the reservoir for cleaning then put in some hydraflush (you can get it from GSF). Leave the hydraflush in the system for upwards of 1000miles then clean again and refill with LHM. If you have a Haynes book it will give you the method.

The pollen filter will be found under the facia on the passenger side. Remove some screws securing the carpet and underneath you'll see the filter cover. The cover slides for removing. Some have a screw holding it, some don't. Note the direction as the old filter comes out. New one goes in the same way/
