I have an 03 Citroen C3 1.4 hdi lx with 105000 miles on the clock. I've owned it for a year and a half and before that my boyfriend owned the car for two years. Car's regularly serviced etc. and it isn't driven hard. Noticed over the last few days that when going up a slight hill, the clutch is slipping slightly if I'm in fourth gear and press the accelerator. Realise the answer is don't put the accelerator down to the floor and the clutch wont slip, but can the clutch be adjusted on a C3 or will it mean I need a new clutch? Not up on cars at all - just know if it's not quite right! Many thanks.

The clutch is hydraulically operated (like the brakes) and not a cable so there will not be any adjustment possible. Sounds as if the clutch needs replacing. It will get worse until it slips all the time so it is best to replace it asap.

Many thanks for that. I'll start saving! Any ideas what the cost could be for a new clutch fitted at an independant garage?

No idea of the cost but does anyone know if this car has a dual mass flywheel - if so this probably also needs replacing at this mileage which could add a few hundred to the cost for the parts.

I can't help with costings but I do know that the 1.4 engine does NOT have a DMF!!
