Turbofan Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Hi,I had this problem. The symptoms were that on engine start the LCD fan symbols on the air-con would light up (actually go dark)but when I tried to use the fan they would go out and no fan! I think it's a common fault in the same component which can cause the fan to run full blast with no control. The item involved is a solid state unit which fits just to the left of where you would rest your clutch foot in the drivers footwell. You need to remove the stiff felt cover trim to expose the unit (which plugs into an air-con airway) remove two wiring loom plug connectors and remove the two screws holding the unit. You can then withdraw the unit. You'll recognise you have the right bit if it has a finned aluminium attachment. It's the same part in Citroen and peugeot so either dealer can supply it and mine cost me, a couple of months ago about £55. Best of luck with it. It's very awkward to access and re-fit. Quote

Turbofan Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Turbo ,cheers, mine is not digi, just air con, would you think it is the same ? Bob The truth is, I don't know. I can only tell you what the problem was with mine and how I fixed it. I must admit I was a bit concerned that I was possibly wasting my money on the replacement part as the dealer said they wouldn't take the part back as a return if it didn't work. Sometimes, if you can't do anything else, you have to take a chance. What does your local dealership say? Quote
