Hi All,

Came across your site while trying to fix a problem with my c5 estate. Everything was fine one morning and i loaded the dogs into the boot as usual and closed the boot. When i got to my destination the boot refused to open. (the whole boot not just the glass that has never workd since i have had the car). As you press the button on the tailgate you dont hear anything. I have tried locking and unlocking, removing the battery. But i still cant open the boot. I have climed through via the back seats and removed the trim panel but still cant see a way to open the boot from the inside.

aany ideas anyone?

thanks

No need to remove trim, on mine when it happens we climb in and put a small screwdriver in the little slot/hole in the black plastic lock cover, and move it (cannot remember direction) until it clicks then the boot will open. It is an emergency mechanical release I suppose. I always keep a small screwdriver in glovebox for this now.
