Giles Posted April 9, 2003 Posted April 9, 2003 Citroen C3 Hdi 16V - Disaster Here is a rundown of the events since purchasing my brand new Citroen C3 1.4 Hdi 16V. I have missed out details of the hassle and the 100 or so phone calls I have made to Citroen UK, Benelux, and Paris. December 2002 I pick up my C3 in Brussels on the 1st December. Back in the UK, there is an engine fault after 1000 miles. The car is producing black smoke, making a horrible noise, and losing power. My brand new C3 goes to Croydon, where it is to stay for the next three and half months. January 2003 The injection pump has a failed. The part is put on back order. Christmas arrangements are ruined. The fuel pump is replaced but two injector valves are also faulty. The parts go on back order. February 2003 12 injector rails arrive in UK but fail to reach Croydon. They are distributed elsewhere. 15 more injector rails arrive in the UK but are held up in Coventry. March 2003 All four injector rails are replaced. I pick up the vehicle and I drive it home: engine fault, breakdown, and more black smoke! There is a further fault they cannot identify. Citroen UK uplift my car to West London. April 2003 Citroen London West say there was a fuel leak from the back of the injector pump and "debris" in the injector valves. They reseat them and reset the car's computer and timing. I am told the car "seems" fine. Where have I heard that before? Delivery is due on Saturday12th April 2003.
