I've not been active in this forum for ages because my trusty C5 has been so well behaved.

Been on and reading , and contributing when I think I can help though.

I'm needing a set of tyres and wonder what others experience has been.

I don't like the tread on the Michelin energy, one of the bands had very shallow tread and seems to wear badly , the spare was original Michelin energy and had 5 bands and was far better than the new design.

Anyone tried Continental eco contact ??

Would appreciate your comments.

You will have seen this but on the Questions page, Citrophile has a post 10/6/2010 on tyres but he has not yet noted what he finally bought. I have stuck with Michelins in recent years for our cars since they have given high mileage. I have noticed though that the tread patterns change even though the tyres retain the same names so whether they last as long I have yet to find out.

In my opinion I would avoid putting Continentals on Citroens - they work well on VW's but not on the C5 - they wear very quickly - in less than 5000 miles the side walls had worn - I had to replace them at 10000 by which time they were smooth! I wondered if there was a problem with the suspension - but they said nothing was wrong - apart from my brakes - which may have contributed to excessive wear. However I now have Falken - and initially thought this was a budget/economy brand. But they are wearing well - no sign so far of any wear at 3000 miles which is good on a c5. The tyre walls are especially wearing well. Also a good quiet ride from them and quite safe - even in the wet.

I was recommended these tyres and also was told that Hankook are very good tyres.

Interesting ...I ended up fitting Dunlop SP Sport fast response because they were on special offer at ATM ..They feel fine will let you know how they wear..
