sootyvan Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Hi there, picked up my new car last week - 1.6 (petrol) Berlingo Desire with the Visibility pack option (Air-con / automatic lights and wipers). Now the auto lights seem to work fine but I'm not so sure about the auto wipers - I must admit I haven't actually used in particularly heavy rain yet so it may just be that the car doesn't think I need them to come on! Does anybody know how or if there is a way of turning this feature on and off? The manual doesn't have any mention of this (or the auto lights) - but it does tell me how to use the cruise control, which would have been nice if I could have actually bought one with it fitted :D Quote
DickieG Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Whilst I haven't seen/used Citroen's auto wipers, a few other manufacturers systems require the auto-wipers to be 'activated' each journey by moving the switch into either the auto or intermittant position. Out of interest as you have the 'Visibility Pack', what does the trip computer cover/do? Quote
wozza Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 with the C4 to turn the auto lights on i have to move the stalk to the lowest position and then it comes up on the screen telling me there activated it will wipe once at this point then turn off. They are fairly good autowipers though. But i find that in heavy rainfall the C4 wipers are total shite i find myself wishing they were at least double the speed to clear the screen. My clio ones in comparison were brilliant and they werent that good. Quote
sootyvan Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 thanks for the advice, I guess I'll just have to have a play with it and pour some water on it to check when it's warm enough not to freeze! not suprisingly the trip computer isn't covered in the manual either but it seems to cover (as far as I can remember): Average MPG Realtime MPG Miles to next fill-up Average speed I'm sure there is something else but can't think what... External Temperature reading? or is that on all of them? Quote
tronboy Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I think the manual's an interim effort. The revised rear door handle isn't covered. Note that it still covers the 2.0HDi and the 1.9D as well as the 1.6HDi92.... but not the 70bhp version! TronX Quote

sootyvan Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 My manual doesn't even cover the 1.6HDi. Then again I don't think the car actually has the all the latest revisions, it is a 55 reg but wasn't a factory order so who knows how long it has been in the country. Still it was the colour I wanted, the engine I wanted and had the air-con I wanted so I'm happy and the Berlingo seems a great vehicle so far. Quote
sootyvan Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 Sorry, no - 1.6 16v petrol... didn't even know there was a 1.6HDi when I bought it, nor did the dealer :D Quote
tronboy Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Ah! Gotcha!... The quick one! So what colour is it? And I see you have the built-in greenhouse?! ;-) Quote
sootyvan Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 It's Iron Grey. And yes, having come from a van without windows, I thought I'd get a van with lots of windows :D Quote
hertsnminds Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Auto wipers are turned on/off by the position of the wiper stalk. For auto lights on the C3/C2 dash there is a button on the end of the lights stalk you hold it in to turn the function on/off. Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
