Guest Al2297 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hope someone can help as this is driving me crazy now!! Whenever the car decides it's going to annoy me, the clock and date displays re-set themselves. It's always when the ignition is off. I'll set them and they'll be fine while i'm in the car and when I get out, but when i get back in they've re-set. Sometimes it won't happen for days and they'll remain set, then just go again at some point? Also, Sometimes I'll get in the car and start the ignition but nothing will work. Clocks, dials, radio, fan/cliamte control, nothing. The car will always start without any problems and I'll still get the audible warnings for seat belt or low fuel but no displays or electrics. Also, the automatic lights won't come on but I can turn them on manually. This normally sorts itself out within a few minutes of driving and everything just comes back on, with the clock and date having been re-set. It's more of an annoyance than anything else but if i have to re-set my clock again I might just have to set fire to the car. Its a 2.0 16v on a 51 plate. Please help!! Quote
paul.h Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 May be low battery voltage, measure it before and after starting the engine, should be about 12.5 and 14 volts. Quote
Guest Al2297 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Haven't golt a voltage meter, but will get one and check it. Thanks for the tip. Quote
Guest digitalinkjetman Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Mine did this!! I found it was the actual connections on to the battery terminals because they were not tight enough! Either change them to bolt on ones, or like me put a self tapper down between the post and clamp!! Quote
Guest Al2297 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 a self tapper?? Do you mean just a simply screw or am I being really stupid? Quote
