Guest Jeraldo Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Well, where to start. Have a 53 Exclusive 2.2 HDi which has done 135k miles and is, frankly, fantastic. Have had it since new (lease car I bought when I retired) and always looked after it. Just spend a fortune on Eloys fluid, brakes, suspension, particulate filter so it will go on for another 3-4 years I hope! However, local independent dealers appear not to have the latest programmes to reset the ECU and today I took mine to a Citroen dealer to shift the particulate warning message as it won't just reset when filled. I reckon it does around 10k miles to a litre of the fluid, having had mine filled at 90k. If the filter blocked warning is showing, then it probably means it has gone and will cost you around £400+ to have a new one fitted. So you have to make a decision as to whether you're going to keep it. If you carry on running it and the filter has gone, it will automatically go into a mode where it won't exceed 2,000 rpm so you'll have to adapt your driving AND it will start all sorts of other problems. My advice is to get it done, particularly with the mileage you've done. A main dealer will be the only option to reset it. If you're going to sell it, chop it in as to sell it privately would be totally unfair unless you told them up front what needed doing and how much it would cost! BTW, am still running with warning about tyre pressure sensors missing (they're not, but they want £281 to put two new ones in and reset the computer!). Hope this helps a bit.
