paul.h Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What size does it give on the sticker on the door pillar - this is the one I would go for. Quote
Guest kimosabe Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Tyre size as Paul saysThe vibration could be wheels out ot balance or track rod ends or drop links worn out, most tyre fitting places would check this for you for free. Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 any idea which size is best to go for? I would stick with the recommended size. Changing is going to run you into the additional expense of five new rims. Also a 215/16 tyre is at least 25quid dearer than a 205/15. Quote
ant.7 Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 thanks guys no info on my door panel? di i have to change the rims if im changing from 195 to 205? if so ill stick with me 195's thanks again tony Quote
seefive Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 thanks guys no info on my door panel? di i have to change the rims if im changing from 195 to 205? if so ill stick with me 195's thanks again tony 205 is the width of the wheel, so yes you would need new wheels 15 or 16 is the diameter, so again you would need new wheels 55 is the percentage of the wall height compared with the width Al in all, best stick with 195/65/15's the wobble ususally means balancing is needed. You may need to check that the tyre fitters have the necessary attachment for balancing Citroen alloys. The centre piece is fixed, so the wheels won't go on standard balancing kit Quote
paul.h Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I am surprised you do not have a small white sticker on one of the front door A pillars (between the hinges) which as well as the tyre size also gives the tyre pressures and paint code. If it is not there then it must have been removed. A brochure I have for 2003 gives the hatchback (SX)/LX model as steel wheels with 195/65 R15 tyres and the VTR with alloy wheels with 215/65 R16 tyres. The estate 15 inch wheels have 205/65 R15 tyres and the alloys as before. Do not know if there is a misprint here since it would result in the VTR models having wheels/tyres overall about 1 inch more in diameter. Quote
